South-east Queensland continues its ongoing storm clean-up. Small businesses, primary producers and not for profits can apply for disaster loans of up to $250,000. Only a handful of schools remain closed while thousands are still without power, as insurers deal with more than 44,000 claims.

00:00In flood-prone Windsor, this house was hiked up just in the nick of time.

00:08You can see there's a line, a dirt line just there.

00:11Home inspector Alastair Mills says while costly, it's worth every cent.

00:16It costs a fortune to get flooded constantly as well,

00:18throw everything away and rebuild.

00:20But for those who didn't lift their homes after 2022,

00:23it's the same old flood story.

00:26The Premier acknowledging from the north to the south

00:29that they are all disaster weary.

00:31This state has been tested in a way that it hasn't been tested for a long, long time.

00:35To have two events in a little over a month at different ends of the state

00:39shows you that Mother Nature can throw challenges.

00:44The clean-up's a mammoth task, with Alfred's dangerous winds

00:47bringing down trees and power lines.

00:50There are still thousands of homes right across the south-east without power.

00:54Energex says its crews are working tirelessly

00:57to try and get those properties back on the grid, but it's challenging.

01:01We're getting quite frustrated and we understand that.

01:03It is really difficult without power.

01:05It's really emotional, we do understand that.

01:07The owner of this Victoria Point property woke to find disaster teams in his backyard.

01:12The fact that they're getting here and cleaning it up and making it safe

01:15is something that we really appreciate.

01:19We've seen the Ute Army just yesterday, in the last 24 hours,

01:23deliver 1,200 tonnes of green waste to different locations across the city.

01:28They are yet to get to Enoggera Creek, where fallen trees are clogging up the waterway.

01:33On the Gold Coast, its world-renowned beaches are still drawing onlookers.

01:38It's pretty amazing that it's been washed away so much,

01:42and it's hard to actually comprehend where the beach was

01:46and also how it's going to recover.

01:48Near Harvey Bay, Suzanne Taylor runs a local caravan park.

01:52Her sights are empty, the road in wrecked.

01:55No bookings, absolutely, it's a ghost town.

01:59She's only three kilometres from the Barge to Garee.

02:02Its roads and camping areas have also been closed.

02:06Any bookings that I have had have cancelled and requested full refunds,

02:10which I have honoured.

02:11It's not their fault, it's not my fault either, but what can you do?
