01:04Goodness gracious, well thank you.

01:06I hope you feel, especially you Moms for Liberty gals, at least a little bit silly for giving

01:10someone a standing ovation for merely saying, men and women are different.

01:16I don't know.

01:17It's kind of the whole shtick.

01:18Look, I'm so honored to be here.

01:22What we are doing today, I know the legislators in the room know this.

01:25I know Governor Morrissey knows this.

01:28It's really long overdue.

01:29This is something that we have been fighting for in the state of West Virginia for many

01:33legislative sessions now.

01:35So this is, I mean, foundational, it's paramount.

01:38It's really a full circle moment for me and to have the bill named after me is just the

01:43biggest honor in my life, really.

01:46So thank you, Governor Morrissey.

01:48Thank you, legislators, the sponsors, co-sponsors of this bill, these amazing women who are

01:52up here today.

01:53But most importantly, I want to give a shout out to Emmy too.

02:01Emmy, the brave, I mean, she was 13, maybe 14 years old at the time when she was set

02:08to compete against a man in their middle school state championship for track and field, specifically

02:14in the event of shot put.

02:16But Emmy and four of her teammates, so five young girls, had more of a backbone than any

02:21man, any coach, any official, anyone else who was supposed to be protecting them.

02:25And they decided to boycott this event, emphasis on the word boy there.

02:31And they chose not to participate.

02:34But again, that's the type of moral courage that inspires me.

02:37It's seeing all of you young girls here today.

02:41This is so revitalizing.

02:42Maybe the objective is, of course, for this to inspire you all, but I think I speak for

02:46all of us up here that it's this that inspires us.
