00:00What is feminism?

00:02It is a movement that believes in giving equal rights, opportunities, and respect to women

00:10in all aspects of life, from education and work to politics and personal freedom.

00:17Why is this important?

00:19For a long time, women have experienced discrimination.

00:25They are not allowed to vote, the opportunities in education and work are limited,

00:30and often, they are not given equal respect and pay compared to men.

00:35Because of this, feminism was helped to create a fairer society.

00:41There are different types of feminism.

00:44First is liberal feminism.

00:47It promotes change in existing systems, such as laws against discrimination.

00:54Second is what we call radical feminism.

00:57It is based on patriarchy or a system that gives more power to adults.

01:05Especially here in the Philippines, we understand it's highly patriarchal.

01:08Like we're saying, the head of the family is the father.

01:11But of course, it also recognizes the strength and ability of women

01:16to work for their families.

01:19Third is intersectional feminism.

01:22It promotes different types of discrimination,

01:26such as gender, gender identity, and gender identity.

01:28So, from being a woman, there are other aspects

01:34where discrimination can be experienced.

01:37Feminism also has four levels.

01:39We have what we call women oppression, gender equality,

01:45women empowerment, and radical feminism.

01:48And sometimes, most of the women, of course,

01:50we want to reach women empowerment or radical feminism

01:53where women are dominant in a certain field.

01:58And we understand, of course, because it's Women's Month,

02:01we really want to show the strength of women

02:04and how good they are in different fields.

02:06What is the effect of feminism on society?

02:09Because of feminism, we have more female leaders,

02:14professionals, businessmen,

02:17and women have more protection in their rights.

02:20Feminism is also more effective

02:23against violence and discrimination.

02:26That's not all.

02:29Until now, there are still challenges

02:32such as gender, wage gap, stereotyping,

02:35and unequal representation in politics.

02:38We still see a lot of different types of violence and discrimination online.

02:44And what is not expected, of course,

02:47is that killing women is still happening.

02:50Feminism is one of the things that can help our society.

02:54Feminism is not against men.

02:57Feminism is not about women being superior

03:00to men or women,

03:03but about equality.

03:06Remember, in a society,

03:09it's not only women who benefit,

03:12but also all genders.

03:15Feminism is a reminder that all people,

03:18have the right to dream, to evolve,

03:21and to live with dignity and respect.
