During the "Save our Healthcare" rally outside of the Capitol in Washington D.C., Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tore into potential healthcare cuts in the GOP's budget.

01:27The aspirations of our children realize the greatness of our country,
01:32and yet they're cutting half the people, and God knows what else next.
01:36But here's the plan. You were there. You were there in 2018.
01:44You were there. There you go. And you made it happen.
01:50They said they were going to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
01:56In fact, that guy who's in the White House now said Obamacare sucks.
02:01He's crude as he is.
02:04But nonetheless, we said it doesn't suck. It cures. It cures.
02:11Now, Aaron talked about so many of the things that are happening with health care and research and the rest.
02:17I just want to focus as I close, not quite close, but almost close, and that is Medicaid.
02:26Medicaid, Medicaid, Medicaid.
02:30Many people think that Medicaid is just for poor children.
02:35That would be justification enough.
02:38That's our moral responsibility. That's what it has to do.
02:43But it's also a middle-class benefit for families that need home health care.
02:49So 72 million people in America depend on Medicaid, on Medicaid.
02:57And in addition to that, our veterans, many of our veterans depend on Medicaid.
03:04So our leadership under Hakeem Jeffries and Catherine Clark and Peter, our leadership next week, we will be having a day all over the country.
03:14One word, Medicaid. Save our Medicaid.
03:19What they did in that bill that passed the House last night was disgraceful.
03:24It was harmful. It was deadly for some people.
03:29So understand this, and I'll say it again and again.
03:33We work very hard listening to you, deciding on priorities, writing language that serves the needs of the people.
03:43And we can only go so far without the outside mobilization.
03:49We cannot succeed.
03:51Popular democracy, thank you, thank you, thank you for having this.
03:56Popular democracy.
03:58And then in addition to that, we have to do, and last time when you helped, we had 10,000 events around the country to save the Affordable Care Act.
04:08And you know what people did? They told their stories.
04:12It wasn't about provisions or politics.
04:15They told their stories.
04:17We have to have that again.
04:19So I hope you'll be participating in all of that.
04:23But our Democrats in the Congress are committed to the good health of the American people.
04:29And health care legislation is about not only their health, but their financial health.
04:36So they don't go broke paying bills.
04:39So thank you for what you're doing, for being here.
04:42You brought some good weather.
04:46Now let's create a political climate in which we can succeed.
