Price’s rise to the top of world darts and Jones’ historic achievements in taekwondo have not only brought global recognition but also inspired a new generation of Welsh athletes to dream big and make their mark on the world stage as she looks for a change in career path, in the near future.

00:07journey began on the rugby pitch. The Welshman originally played professional rugby union

00:12before making an unexpected switch to darts in 2014. Since then Price has taken the sport

00:19by storm winning multiple majors and becoming the world number one. His transition has been

00:25financially rewarding as well with an estimated net worth of £2.4 million in 2025. A large portion

00:33of his wealth comes from tournament earnings with over £3.9 million earned in prize money

00:38throughout his career. His most lucrative victory came in 2021 when he won almost £500,000 for

00:45winning the PDC World Darts Championship. Beyond competition Price has secured lucrative endorsement

00:53deals. He is sponsored by Red Dragon Darts which manufactures a range of darts and accessories in

00:59his name as well as brands like Dragons RFC, Vans Direct and Tough Stuff. Most recently he claimed

01:05the 2025 Players' Championship title proving his career switch was a masterstroke. Another

01:12Welsh sportsperson who's made the switch is Jade Jones, one of the country's most decorated

01:17Olympians now embarking on an entirely new sporting challenge in professional boxing.

01:23The double olympic taekwondo gold medalist shocked fans by announcing her switch

01:28saying she is dreaming big and aiming to become a two sport world champion. Training under former

01:35professional boxer Stephen Smith, Jones has only been boxing for a few months but is embracing the

01:41challenge. Yeah I just felt you know unbelievable it still doesn't seem real to be honest it's crazy

01:47you know waking up and seeing it at the side of your bed is the best feeling and yeah and I just

01:53didn't realize how much pressure that I would you know feel on the day and so I'm just so proud of

01:58myself for you know dealing with the pressure because to me that you know that's a true champion.

02:03If her past achievements are anything to go by she could be a serious contender in boxing.
