00:00start off in the sports betting world. We start off with the state of Georgia. We've,

00:04you know, heard some back and forth. There really wasn't a ton of optimism. So I'm supposing that

00:09I'm guessing we're not going to see legalized sports betting in Georgia this year and next

00:12year probably question mark as well. Yeah, I, you know, Georgia was again one of those states that

00:18there were high hopes for because now we're up in the top levels of trees because all the low

00:23hanging fruit is gone for the state's legalizing. And of course, you know, Georgia, Minnesota,

00:28I think we're the two and have been the two the last two years that people kind of look at and

00:32say, okay, this is something we can get done. There's decent proposals laid out enough people

00:39on, you know, both sides of the aisle saying, let's get this done. And then it just didn't get

00:45done. The crossover deadline has passed with bills not passing over between chambers. It started in

00:50the Senate with a Senate proposal that kind of fell apart that included sports betting and casinos.

00:57The Senate committee that it was in kind of voted against it kind of gave

01:03the nod to the house to say, hey, we know you guys care more about kind of what's in this,

01:09you go ahead and try to figure it out. Marcus Woodrow took a long time to get his bill introduced.

01:16It introduced it two weeks ago, just ahead of the crossover deadline, which was last week.

01:20And it did make make it through a committee, and then didn't get called up on that crossover

01:25deadline. And so it's, it's effectively dead. There's there's a chance, you know, a couple

01:31of years ago, I don't know if you remember this, Craig, a bill was kind of hijacked a bill to

01:37naming a state official derby race and put in sports betting language after the crossover deadline.

01:47And then it kind of didn't move because of how controversial that move was. So something like

01:53that could happen, but I highly doubt it. Georgia is probably going to be on on the back burner.

02:00For the year, it was a constitutional amendment. So it would have gone to voters next November.

02:05So the timeline doesn't really change. If they do go ahead and take it up again next

02:09next year, it would still be on the ballot in 2026 if they pass it, so it wouldn't start until 2027.

02:15So really, the timeline doesn't change, but it is still a disappointment for the industry and

02:19hopeful sports bettors in Georgia.
