00:00The Las Vegas Raiders making the first move. Trading for Geno Smith, Seattle

00:05shipping out their quarterback to Vegas. In return, the Seahawks get a third

00:09round pick this year. Geno Smith now reunites with Pete Carroll. They spent a

00:15year or so together up in the Pacific Northwest. Geno Smith, now the new

00:19quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders. Donny Rightside, your reaction. My

00:24reaction is I don't understand what they're doing. And that's not Seattle. You

00:27might be thinking I'm talking about Seattle. What are they doing? They have a

00:29quarterback here and they should keep DK Metcalf and keep everybody together

00:32and make a playoff run. Understand this. Seattle and John Schneider, their GM, said

00:37you know what? We're not making a playoff run and it's about winning

00:40championships here. That's not gonna happen. And oh by the way, we'd like to

00:43bring Geno back, but at our number. Let's just say Geno, low 30s, like a Baker

00:46Mayfield type deal. He wanted more money. The minute they heard that, they shipped

00:49them out of town. Smart business move for them. Get the restart going now because

00:53it's about championships, not about winning eight to nine games per season.

00:57Now let's shift this over to the Vegas Raiders and what they're thinking. I

01:00remember when they signed Pete Carroll said this is perfect. Bring in a guy

01:03that's been around winners. He's gonna be able to build that foundation like

01:06he did at USC and rebuilt that structure there and then goes to Seattle and did

01:10the same exact thing. And they ended up with a Lombardi trophy and probably

01:13should have to have. They just handed the football off. But I thought Pete

01:16Carroll be the perfect coach that was already on his way out of the NFL where

01:20Seattle said bye bye. You're too old. It's past your prime to go down and say,

01:23you know what? I think Vegas makes some sense to start this because in two to

01:27three years when I retire because I'll be in my mid seventies, I'm gonna hand

01:30the keys off to somebody who's gonna be ready to win and everything cleared out.

01:34And then what do we find ourselves doing? Buying an aging quarterback,

01:38giving up draft capital. And on top of that, he's gonna need to sign a new

01:41extension, which means Raider fans. Congratulations on the six wins next

01:46year. What did that get you? Absolutely nothing. You have to understand this. I

01:50love the fact that it came between these two organization. Seattle goes 10

01:54wins isn't enough. This quarterback and this team cannot take us over the top.

01:59Let's rebuild this thing right now. Seattle fans, you should be standing in

02:02applause because that's a healthy franchise Vegas Raiders fans. If

02:05there's any of them out there as they get invaded by visiting fans on a week

02:10to week basis. Why? Because it's not a hot ticket for the home team because

02:13they get slaughtered by everybody that comes to town for reasons like this.

02:17Gino Smith is not taking you to the playoffs. Therefore, what did you get

02:22him for? And why are you signing him to an extension? I can't understand what

02:27the Raiders are doing here.
