00:00The Commission on Higher Education, or CHED, thanks President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

00:05for approving the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, or ITEAP Law.

00:11According to CHED Chairman Prospero Rivera III,

00:14due to the violation of the law,

00:16there will be many regulations that can be offered by the degree programs

00:20that can fulfill the said program.

00:23The program aims to have an undergraduate degree for Filipinos,

00:27even for overseas Filipino workers through their work experience.

00:32CHED is also encouraging state universities and colleges to offer ITEAP.

00:37At present, up to 101 Higher Education Institutions, or HEIs,

00:43are offering programs where most of these are private studies.

00:49ITEAP started in the country in the 1990s

00:52under the Executive Order issued by former President Fidel V. Ramos.

01:00We will expand the number of schools,

01:02and more importantly,

01:04we will expand the degree programs authorized under ITEAP.
