00:00Stephen a okay we lightly touched on its last segment gonna give you guys an

00:09opportunity to hear some of his comments of course as you can imagine Stephen a

00:12is pretty long-winded so I've cut it into three different parts but if any

00:16point you'd like to stop and address you know I understand just give me the

00:20signal there this is Stephen a's opening comments that Kevin Love seemed to have

00:26an issue with in regards to having to address it had no other choice I say

00:31there was a moment in the game that we want to address that was LeBron James

00:39coming up to me unexpectedly I might add to confront me about making sure that uh

00:47I mind what I say about his son can't repeat the words because they ain't

00:53suited for FCC airwaves that's what he was doing I thought long and hard about

01:00this over the last few hours because I had no intentions Molly of talking about

01:07this at all yeah the reason why is because it was a one-on-one I wouldn't

01:13say a conversation but it was a one-on-one confrontation but then I

01:17wake up and everybody from ESPN and my agent and everybody else were sending me

01:23that this thing had gone viral and so ultimately it was unavoidable and that

01:27is why I have to discuss it now that wasn't a basketball player confronting

01:35me that was a parent that was a father and I can't sit here and be angry or

01:46feel slighted by LeBron James in any way in that regard by all accounts he's

01:52obviously a wonderful family man and a wonderful father who cares very very

01:55deeply about his son and based on some of the comments that he had heard or

02:00shall I say I think he thought he heard he clearly took exception to some of the

02:07things that he heard me say and he confronted me about it well if he heard

02:12you say him then how do you claim has my number Maverick Carter who works on them

02:18has my number LeBron James knows how to get in contact with me if he wanted to

02:23he never called and wanted to talk to me I would have accepted that call had he

02:31wanted to see me I would have flown out and I would have seen him and I would

02:33have had a conversation man-to-man but that is not who he elected to let me

02:44say this LeBron probably wouldn't have gave him the time of day however he was

02:51courtside and he walked by him so then he decided to get what he had to say off

02:57his chest right I think one of the biggest most cowardly moves that people

03:08make when they say things about people and then those people get mad is they

03:15say if you had a problem with me you could have called me I don't want to

03:20talk to you why why should LeBron give him the time of damn day to call him or

03:30anybody call him this all happened because he was walking off the court and

03:36said damn Stephen is there I'm gonna go let him have it that's it if you wanted

03:42to call me he could have I would have flown out there think about this if you

03:52were ever pissed off at somebody because it's something they did or said why

04:00would you give them the satisfaction of trying to call him and straighten it out

04:05here is a him talking about what Marcos what's this next cut on what he would

04:11have said to LeBron because it wasn't it wasn't a conversation according to

04:18Stephen a it was a conference yes he was trying to humble brag that LeBron had

04:22his phone number the bigger the bigger would have been if he had called pretty

04:29sure LeBron James plays for a team with a media department I'm pretty sure it's

04:33easy to get Stephen a Smith's contact information if you wanted to I think he

04:37went the most efficient route for him what does Stephen a say he would have

04:41said to LeBron James in the event that he was in front of LeBron James what I

04:46would have said if we were in a different environment because I was not

04:50going to engage in a confrontation at that particular moment in that setting

04:54if we had had that conversation I would have said to LeBron James I never would

05:02speak negatively about your son I was talking about you meaning you LeBron

05:08James that would have went over well I have nothing but the best wishes for

05:12Bronnie James oh my goodness I wish him nothing he flourishes into an NBA star

05:18usually in other sports we see all-stars and on occasion we'll see their children

05:24become stars as well that doesn't really happen with the NBA I sincerely hope he's

05:29the exception by all accounts he's a wonderful kid and I don't know anybody

05:34who roots against him and it certainly isn't me but in the same breath at the

05:39time that we were talking about him he was percolating to such a degree that

05:43the Bronnie James stories had gone viral and so we had to talk about it and when

05:50I said the things that I said I wasn't talking about Bronnie James because my

05:55attitude is he's a rookie it's going to take some time for him to get himself

05:59together he'll be just fine especially with JJ Redick and the staff coaching him

06:04I was talking about the position that he was put in by his dad because LeBron James

06:11has been on the record and he has said and I'll read the quote here there was a

06:16quote that he that he gave in February of 2024 the work and results will ultimately

06:23do talking no matter what decides if y'all don't know he doesn't care what mock drafts say

06:28he just works earned not given except all right Marcos I gotta be honest I'm tapping out on this

06:33and second of all no you wouldn't have said this to him because he would have been bored

06:37to death oh my god if you would think that's not how you would talk to me that's what you

06:42would have said also how do you feel about him mentioning the coach you know listen hey you

06:49know old Tobes props what props is due to JJ Redick I mean it only took him getting Luka Doncic

06:56what a marvel what a coach you know that somewhere else in this country

07:06somebody is saying the same exact thing about Spo oh are they really that oh you mean a man who's

07:13who's got credentials and I mean Eric Spolstre who had to coach Jamario Moon in his first year

07:21and this guy he won a championship but he had to get LeBron and and uh and Bosch that's fine

07:28but he's also been back to the finals where his best score was Goran Dragic like like again I'm

07:34just saying props to JJ Redick hold on hold on props to JJ Redick but the turnaround happened
