00:00This year, the ASEAN Women's Championship, also known as ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup 2025,
00:08is the year in which the Philippine Women's National Football Team defended their title that they won in 2022.
00:16This is what our teammate, Daryl Oclares, has to say about it.
00:20Our Philippine Women's National Football Team is facing a huge challenge in their campaign for the ASEAN Women's Championship 2025,
00:30which is now called the ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup 2025.
00:36The Philippines was the champion of the ASEAN Women's Championship in 2022 after beating Thailand in a score of 3-0 in the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Lungsod, Manila.
00:48At the press conference of the tournament on Tuesday,
00:52the Philippines' goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel admitted that the pressure is not going away,
00:57especially since their target is to defend their crown.
01:01I think that, you know, there's always pressure whether you're coming in as a defending champion or, you know,
01:08coming in to try and take that championship away from someone else.
01:11But I think, you know, something that my team especially, we like to live by is pressures of privilege.
01:18So I think it's such a privilege to be able to play in such high stakes like this and be able to play against such amazing players.
01:25And, you know, we're looking to defend the title for sure.
01:28And, you know, we're going to be going up against such great competition.
01:32So, you know, it's going to be tough, but we're looking to bring it home.
01:41At the ASEAN Women's Championship, the Philippines held a seven-day training camp last month
01:47in the newest football field at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
01:51Aside from this, our women's football squad participated in the CFA International Women's Football Tournament this April.
01:59They are also preparing for the ASEAN Women's Championship 2025.
