00:00I fell in love. I started watching these films and suddenly I was like, oh my god, this is

00:07the language I should be speaking.

00:09When I was very young, I don't think I ever saw any lesbians in film or popular culture.

00:15Only in books.

00:17When I started 16mm film, I was coming out. And it seemed like if we're experimenting

00:22with our lives and the way we're going to live, that our film or art form should also

00:27be experimental.

00:29I always felt like I need to talk about the things that I know about that I haven't quite

00:34heard being spoken about. For me, a lot of them were things that were scary.

00:39It was around the same time that I wanted to become a filmmaker that I was discovering

00:45this alternate sexuality, which brings me to this documentary and being an old gay.
