00:00In observance of Fire Prevention Month, the Bureau of Fire Protection or BFP

00:05underscored the importance of collaboration with local government units

00:09and other government agencies in keeping communities alert and safe from fire incidents.

00:15Maine Odong from Philippine Information Agency, Calabarzon, tells us more.

00:21To raise public awareness and encourage cooperation in ensuring the safety of individuals and communities,

00:28BFP reminds the public that fire safety is not solely the responsibility of the Bureau,

00:34but a collective effort of all sector.

00:36In areas that are fire-prone, as we know from the news,

00:42mostly are informal settlers.

00:45That is a big challenge for BFP.

00:47But then again, there is the assistance of our local government units

00:51and also the support of our barangay fire brigades.

00:56It's the same for our other agencies that we partner with when it comes to fire safety education.

01:02As protectors of communities, firefighters were also given access to housing programs and services

01:09to boost their morale and show gratitude for their noble service through a partnership with the Pag-ibig Fund.

01:15We recognize the sacrifices you make so that civilians are protected from the hazards of fire.

01:24That is why you should allow us to provide protection to you

01:30through the benefits that will help boost your lives.

01:36Every March, fire-related incidents increased due to a combination of environmental factors

01:42and increased electrical consumption.

01:44Sa pag-iwa sa sunog, hindi ka nag-iisa.

01:47That is the battle cry of BFP as they urge the public to be alert and vigilant in keeping everyone safe.
