00:00Authorities are now imposing tourism-related fees on Boracay Island

00:05to make it more competitive with other tourist destinations

00:09and to attract more tourists.

00:17has already helped the Department of Tourism,

00:20the Local Government of Clanat Malay, and other stakeholders

00:24to decide if there is anything that needs to be changed

00:26in the current situation for tourists.

00:33is also supporting this initiative to maintain the tourism industry in the island.

00:36At present, there are P150 for the terminal and environmental fees,

00:41as well as other fees.

00:43According to the data of the Malay Municipal Tourism Office,

00:45from February 1 to 15,

00:47there are 92,254 tourist arrivals in Boracay,

00:51of which 65,230 are local tourists,

00:5424,905 are foreign visitors,

00:57and some are off the balloons and returning Filipinos.
