00:29This is what Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said.

00:35President Benz was discussing something deeper, identity, democracy, freedom of speech.

00:43In short, Europe's historic role and mission.

00:49Many pretended to be outraged, calling for European pride against an American dating

00:56to lecture us.

00:58But let me tell you, as someone who is proud to be European, first, if those who were outraged

01:08had shown the same pride when Europe lost its strategic autonomy, tying its economy

01:15to autocratic regimes, or when European borders and our way of life were threatened by mass

01:22illegal migration, now we would live in a stronger Europe.

01:26When we stopped invasions, won our independences, and overthrew dictators.

01:32And we have done it together the last three years in Ukraine, where a proud people fight

01:39for their freedom against the brutal aggression.

01:42And we must continue today, working together for a just and lasting peace, a peace that

01:47can only be built with the contribution of all, but above all, with strong leaderships.

01:54And I know, that with Donald Trump leading the United States, we will never again see

02:00the disaster we saw in Afghanistan four years ago.

02:09Shashank, the Italian Prime Minister has hit out at left hypocrisy, not just expressed

02:13support for Donald Trump, but also Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

02:17Do you think her remarks showcase her great personal rapport with both Trump and Modi?

02:22Well, absolutely.

02:23In some sense, we know that she does have a close relationship with Prime Minister Modi.

02:27We also know that, you know, being in America right now as the European leader, what she's

02:31trying to do is playing on something that Donald Trump and his administration have already indicated.

02:36What we're seeing in the Western world right now is this massive divide between center-left

02:40liberal parties and conservative right-wing parties.

02:44And Donald Trump and his administration in America have made very clear that they have

02:47a preference for conservative right-wing parties like themselves.

02:51You will notice that they have, some people like Elon Musk, who is very close to the president,

02:55have endorsed right-wing parties in Germany and in other European elections, and that

02:59is what they want Europe to increasingly look like.

03:02So Johnson Maloney is playing to that.

03:03She's saying that I am a very strong European leader.

03:06I am also from a conservative right-wing background.

03:09And so you and I can form this form of alliance.

03:12So she's there.

03:13She's praising Donald Trump.

03:14She's praising his foreign policy, slamming the policy of the Biden administration.

03:19So what you're seeing really is this divide in the Western world between center-left liberal

03:24parties and this emerging alliance of conservative right-wing parties that want to act in concert

03:30with each other all across the Western world.

03:32So it's a very interesting development in the political sphere.
