No extra advantage for India in Dubai, Pakistan need to play with coverage: Aqib Javed

Pakistan bowling coach Aqib Javed said that India won't be having any extra advantage playing in Dubai and mentioned that his team will play with courage in the all-important clash between the two teams on Sunday, February 23.

00:17against India, how much of that mindset you are trying to bring into the team right now?

00:23And you have produced one of the best spells against India here, getting a hat-trick. So

00:29what kind of that mindset you are trying to inculcate into the team today?

00:35I have heard a lot of options and discussions going on. Other teams have too many spinners

00:45and we have lesser spinning options. You know the teams play their game on their own strength.

00:54We have like specialist three, I would say one of the best pace bowling options even

01:04today's game with Shaheen, Naseem and Haris. It reminds me of that 90s trike. So I think

01:16reaching at that level still they have time but they have all the ability to repeat those

01:23sort of performances. So pretty much confident and I think when you play against India, it's

01:33a special feeling and I think they will bring something very special tomorrow.

01:47your first match and of course you are under enormous pressure because tomorrow's game

01:51is like a knockout and that too against India. So what kind of pressure you are feeling right

01:56now being the host and on the edge?

02:00There is no game you can say you play without pressure. The first game we lost, New Zealand

02:09is being a very strong team, they have good balance and it doesn't make any difference.

02:18After losing a game there is another good chance for you to win and win the third one

02:24and make it to the semis. Against India and Pakistan it doesn't matter. It's a knockout

02:31or whatever. It's beyond game and that's the beauty of India-Pakistan cricket. And if you

02:39look at the positive, I think that is the best time and best chance for any individual

02:45or a team to make a mark. We used to love it and all the players are waiting for the

02:53opportunity to rise and rise above the bar.

03:02Just wanted to know from you that since India have already played one game on that page

03:07which is looking unusually slow and you guys will be playing for the first time on this

03:11tournament. How do you see this situation? Do you see an extra added advantage for India

03:17because they have played one game on this page?

03:20Not at all because if you look at all the Pakistani players they have been playing leagues

03:29here. They were like PSL played here. So it's nothing really and the conditions everybody

03:36knows and I don't think there is any advantage and disadvantage.

03:59But as far as you are saying that India has a plan to play 3-4 spinners. So that is their

04:28plan. We have to play our cricket on our own strength. So our team, you won't see many

04:36changes. We have selected a team which we believe in and we will back it. If our fast

04:48bowling options are the best and they are match winners then it's not necessary that

04:55you start doing what the other team is doing.

05:25So tomorrow there won't be as much pressure on Pakistan as there will be on India.

05:30Because Pakistan has lost one match whereas India has to save their tournament.

05:35Do you think that in the last match of Bangladesh vs India, the pitch was a bit slow in the

05:41second session. So is there going to be any difference in the second session batting?

05:47Pressure is there to do well and if it doesn't go well then what will happen. So these are

05:59the thoughts before and after the match. Right now we are all guessing what will happen

06:07in this match. This is the beauty of it. Nobody knows anything. So in the same way

06:14taking pressure is the job of the players. If you take away the pressure then what's

06:20left in the Pakistan India game. You need passion and pressure to show your performance

06:29to the players. If you look at the pitch, if you study the whole match, there was a

06:39slight turn, there was a seam in the ball and it was good for batting as well.

06:46So it's a very balanced supporting pitch.

06:55How big a setback is it for Fakhar to go out and between Imam and Usman will it be a tricky

07:02call as far as picking Babbar's partner at the top?

07:07There is no doubt Fakhar is a match winner. Every team actually misses their match winners.

07:17But you can't depend on only one player. We will still place a good strong team and try to win

07:30and try to play good positive cricket.
