01:27First and foremost, we were just with President Trump,

01:30and I just want to thank him.

01:31I know he's not here in the room right now,

01:33but what a ride we have been on,

01:35what a courageous warrior and leader he has been,

01:38and the faith and trust he has put in me to lead the FBI

01:41is the greatest honor that I'll ever have in my life.

01:44And to General Bondi, that sounds pretty freaking cool.

01:49Pam, you're my sister, you're my mentor,

01:51you're my friend, you're my boss,

01:54and the confidence you have placed in me,

01:56I will never violate that trust.

01:58The men and women of the FBI will be led under your leadership

02:02through one standard, the Constitution.

02:05So thank you for entrusting me, Pam.

02:26I'm here because of God, I'm here because of my family,

02:29and I'm here because of my friends,

02:31and you're literally in this room because you made it happen.

02:34My sister, Nisha, and my nephew, Arian,

02:37flew in from London just to be here.

02:39My beautiful girlfriend, Alexis, is here.

02:46My aunts and uncles are here,

02:48they've come from all over the country.

02:51I am living the American dream,

02:53and anyone that thinks the American dream is dead,

02:55just look right here.

02:57You're talking to a first-generation Indian kid

02:59who's about to lead the law enforcement community,

03:01the greatest nation on God's green earth.

03:03That can't happen anywhere else.

03:12To the senators and the men and women

03:14of the United States House of Representatives,

03:16you placed an enormous trust in me,

03:18an enormous leap of faith,

03:20one that I didn't know that I could possibly earn back,

03:23but I'm going to spend every single day on this job doing so.

03:26The fact that you placed the confidence you did in me

03:29has inspired me to reach new heights at this job.

03:32I promise you the following.

03:34There will be accountability within the FBI

03:37and outside of the FBI,

03:39and we will do it through rigorous constitutional oversight

03:42starting this weekend.

03:52This is great.

03:53We all used to live in the same freaking house.

03:58Yeah, I don't have any prepared remarks.

04:00I wish I could go around the room and tell a story

04:03about how each and every one of you

04:05have magically touched my life to put me in this position,

04:08what a rollercoaster ride it has been.

04:11I do know this.

04:12We are in this room together

04:14because you guys have a love of country

04:16that is truly inspirational,

04:18and it bleeds out everywhere we go.

04:20And if you look around this room,

04:22you see civil servants, you see warriors,

04:24you see attorneys,

04:26you see great husbands and fathers and mothers and wives.

04:30And we're fighting for the same thing,

04:32our future, our children, this guy.

04:37And there is no greater mission.

04:39I wish I had more words to thank every single one of you,

04:43but every time I look at every single one of you,

04:45you guys know the stories you can't tell.

04:49More importantly, the ones you can.

04:54Pam and I were just talking in the back,

04:56and we were like, do you believe this?

04:59We were on the campaign trail together.

05:01We were attorneys in the first administration together.

05:03Now we're here.

05:04She's the Attorney General.

05:05I'm the Director of the FBI.

05:06Like, this is insane.

05:09And I don't really fully believe it yet.

05:11I hope to, but...

05:18I'm just not here without you guys.

05:22Look, I know the media's in here,

05:25and if you have a target,

05:27that target's right here.

05:28It's not the men and women at the FBI.

05:30You've written everything you possibly can about me

05:32that's fake, malicious, slanderous, and defamatory.

05:35Keep it coming. Bring it on.

05:37But leave the men and women of the FBI out of it.

05:39They deserve better.

05:50And for those of you who think

05:51that there's going to be a two-tier system of justice,

05:53not with Attorney General Bondi.

05:55There's a singular system of justice for all Americans,

05:58and there will be accountability.

06:00And the reason that this mission is so important

06:03is simply the following.

06:05100,000 people last year raped.

06:09100,000 people died of CCP fentanyl overdose and heroin.

06:1317,000 homicides.

06:16Violent crime is out of control.

06:20We cannot have a United States of America

06:23where that is acceptable,

06:25where someone dies every 30 minutes,

06:27where someone ODs every seven,

06:29where someone's raped every six.

06:31That cannot be allowed to continue,

06:35and it will not be allowed to continue.

06:37Our national security mission is equally as important.

06:40Anyone that wishes to do harm to our way of life

06:44and our citizens here or abroad

06:46will face the full wrath of the Department of Justice

06:48and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

06:50And if you seek to hide in any corner of this country

06:53or any corner of this planet,

06:55we will put on the world's largest manhunt,

06:57and we will find you,

06:58and we will decide your end state, not you.

07:01We will uphold the Constitution.

07:04We will uphold ourselves to the Constitution.

07:07The men and women at the FBI,

07:09I have your back because you have the backs of the American people.

07:12You will be held to the same high standard.

07:16Any deviation from that standard

07:18will not be tolerated at this Federal Bureau of Investigation.

07:21The men and women at the FBI who make us safe deserve better,

07:25and they are going to get it.
