00:26But if it means trade good players away to sort of help the future of the team, I feel

00:30Even with McAvoy, you couldn't guarantee a playoff spot.

00:34No, I mean, they're all jumbled together.

00:35They've played more games than everybody else in the conference, and yet they still aren't

00:40one of the top eight teams just on points.

00:41So when you look at point percentage, I think they're more like 10th.

00:44So I was leaning towards sell anyway.

00:49And now if you don't have your best defenseman for a couple of weeks and however many games

00:52that is, trade deadline is what we said, the seventh or give or take.

00:57So there, I think they have seven games left from when they resume play after the four

01:01nations to the trade deadline.

01:04And I haven't loved hearing like Neely and Sweeney recently where it sounds like it's

01:08going to come down to these seven games.

01:09Like they don't know what the team is, but let's just say McAvoy can't play in any of

01:13those games.

01:14Like, what, what do you think?

01:17Shouldn't you get out in front of this and try to be the best possible team for 2026

01:23and beyond and move some of those guys.

01:26Maybe some guys that you can't get new contracts done with like Trent Frederick, obviously

01:30Brad Marshans, like the big, big, big name that potentially could get move.

01:34A bunch of Western conference teams would definitely have interest in him and try to

01:38set yourself up.

01:39I think it would be thrown away resources if you tried to add to the team.

01:44And then if you simply did nothing, I think that would be maybe the most frustrating thing

01:48of all, because you're saying that's like a Red Sox playbook from the last couple of

01:53What are you like for the few people that think they are a playoff seat, like the Ray

01:57Crofts of the world, I think they're going to win the cup that you got to go do then

02:00do something.

02:02Like, that's not how I would do it, but at least pick a direction or like, are you retooling

02:07in a positive way?

02:09And you're like, we're going to actually go out and find a center maybe, or are you retooling

02:13for the future?

02:14Which I think would be the better path.
