Saturday Night Live celebrated its 50th anniversary with a star-studded special featuring past and present cast members, hosts, and musical guests including Cher, Snoop Dogg and Miley Cyrus.

00:00I think SNL was the biggest influence on pop culture and used comedy and music to kind
00:20of reflect back to us where we were so the show is constantly doing that and being a
00:25part of that like living organism is really cool.
00:28This is a dream come true for me. Since I was a kid, I used to cut my birthday cake
00:32and make a wish to be on Saturday Night Live and throw a coin in the fountain and 50 years
00:36later here I am. I'm the luckiest guy on earth.
00:38I feel really proud to be included. I've had the honor of hosting three times and each
00:45one was so surreal and it's just, you know, a funny kid's dream come true.
00:50The whole week, it's an interesting week. I've hosted now a couple times so I kind of
00:53get a sense of how it's done but one of the things that is surprising is just how much
00:58they're able to get done in a short amount of time and if you're filming like a Lonely
01:03Island video or a digital short, whatever it is, it's like you're kind of doing that
01:06around what the regular schedule is so it's really, I mean, an all-encompassing week.
