00:00The Philippine Statistics Authority recognized Batanes as the fastest-growing province in the Philippines.

00:13The province of Batanes is the smallest and one of the most difficult provinces to visit in the Philippines.

00:19For others, it is one of their dreams to visit because of its natural beauty.

00:24However, it is one of the most difficult provinces to visit because the only way to reach the province is by car.

00:31However, the province showed that even though it is small and far, it will not be the last to talk about it.

00:38In the latest Economic Performance Report released by the Philippine Statistics Authority,

00:43Batanes was recognized as the fastest-growing province in the Philippines.

00:48According to Governor Marilu Caico, since the reopening of the industry and tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic,

00:56the economy of the province has deteriorated.

00:59According to the Philippine Statistics Authority,

01:02transportation and tourism are the main reasons for the economic boom of Batanes.

01:07Contributions by industry, the main driver to Batanes' economic growth is their transportation and storage,

01:13which grew by 44.6%.

01:17For now, the officials of Batanes remain positive that they will continue their state as the fastest-growing economy in the Philippines.

01:28However, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority,

01:30natural calamities such as the typhoon that always visit their province are still a threat to their economy.
