00:00The health care centers of Quezon City are open to the public even on Saturdays and Sundays

00:05following the case of dengue in Luzon.

00:08The details are reported by Quenzel Bocobo of IBC.

00:14Quezon City is now one of the hotspots for increasing the number of cases of dengue in Luzon.

00:23This Saturday, the LGU declared the dengue outbreak in Luzon.

00:29But according to some residents of the barangay,

00:32they are now in charge of taking care of the situation of dengue in their community.

00:38For us, it's scary.

00:40Especially now, I have a small foot.

00:44It's really scary.

00:46So, once there's a flood, it's really a check-up.

00:49It's dangerous.

00:50Before, when there was an outbreak,

00:52our relatives were infected with dengue.

00:55So, we're kind of afraid of dengue.

00:57According to the LGU,

00:59the number of people infected with dengue reached 10 in January.

01:04Eight of them are minors.

01:07And in the first six weeks of 2025,

01:111,769 cases of dengue were reported in Quezon City.

01:17This is the highest number of cases reported since 2010.

01:22Now, we have bridged the epidemic threshold.

01:26That's why, on the left and right,

01:29the authorities are now calculating

01:32such as chemical spraying in the barangays,

01:35cleaning up the possible traces of the flood,

01:38and repeatedly sharing information of the government

01:42on how to address the symptoms of dengue

01:45and how to avoid it.

01:53provided by health centers in their barangays.

01:56This is one of the free medical services

01:59offered by our local health centers.

02:08and Quezon City General Hospital.

02:10Quezon City assures that their government is ready

02:14in case the number of cases of dengue in the city increases.
