00:03Cricket entered my life at the age of 44, when most sports people retire from sports.

00:13Mukesh had bought this team, Mumbai Indians, and it had all the big stars in it.

00:21And yet we were at the bottom of the table.

00:24I went there just to motivate the team.

00:27I said, you know, they're doing so bad, so badly, and someone needs to be there saying,

00:32it's okay, it's okay.

00:34I decided to sit in the dugout with all the players.

00:37I don't know why I had the strange idea that I should sit there.

00:41So next to me was the legend Sachin Tendulkar.

00:49And on the other side was Zaheer Khan.

00:52I looked at Sachin and said, please tell me, why is this bowler taking such a long run up?

01:02And why is this bowler taking such a short run up?

01:05He had to tell me that one is a pacer and one is a spinner.

01:11I was such a, I mean, I felt so idiotic at that time to ask all these questions.

01:22I know a leg spin, I know an off spin, I know a wrist spin, I know a googly.

01:29How did you get involved in cricket?

01:32And what, from that, how have you made Mumbai Indians one of the most successful teams?

02:17So, they were playing in South Africa, and I went there just to motivate the team.

02:34So I landed in Cape Town, that's where we were playing at that time.

02:48And I decided to sit in the dugout with all the players.

04:12It has brought this extreme love for sport in my life.

04:18Another thing we do well at Mumbai Indians is that we call ourselves one family.

04:26So the year I took over, in 2010, we started with a bond to win camp.

04:33Where everybody came together and we were talking about how the team comes before self.

04:40And how are you going to do that because we had so many stalwarts in our team.

04:46And everybody had to share a room.

04:48So my son Akash got to share a room with a cricketer called Ambati Raidu.

04:54So I think this feeling of one family was inculcated since then.
