00:00Let's identify the off-season losers and then perhaps the winners.

00:04Let's start with the losers to see how we can take advantage seemingly.

00:07Now, you say the Baltimore Orioles are an off-season loser.

00:12So take it from there.

00:14Well, look, I don't know how you go from losing arguably your best offensive player in Anthony

00:20Santander, right?

00:22And then you're front of the rotation ace and you don't replace either and you're a

00:28better team year over year.

00:30I mean, explain that to me like I'm a five-year-old because I don't understand it at all.

00:34So you lose the line of protection for a lot of the kids with Santander, 40 home run power.

00:38You're losing 200 innings, a guy Corbin Burns who, you know, has been a side young candidate

00:45every year for the last five years.

00:48And I understand that to a certain degree, the Baltimore Orioles are saying, well, we

00:51still got all this youth coming.

00:52We expect more of Jackson Holliday.

00:53We expect Kobe Mayo to come up.

00:55We expect, we expect, we expect, and it's fine.

00:58But it hasn't happened yet, right?

01:00So Gunnar Henderson.

01:01Yeah.

01:02The guy's a star.

01:03He's up there.

01:04That's cool.

01:05Rushman's up there.

01:06The rest of this lineup is still, I think, pretty iffy.

01:07You know, at one point, what are you getting out of Ryan Mountcastle at this stage in his

01:10career?

01:11A guy whose numbers have regressed the last three years.

01:13Colton Couser had some moments last year, but again, kind of regressed as the season

01:17went on.

01:18And then you look at this rotation.

01:19Grayson Rodriguez, I love, I think he could be an ace.

01:22But after that, you've got Zach Eflin, Charlie Morton is older than Matt Stryker, and that

01:26is old.

01:27That is old, my friends.

01:28That is old.

01:29And then you've got Dean Kramer, Saganos, the pitcher they signed this offseason.

01:33To me, that's not enough.

01:34If the Orioles are smart, they would take some of this youth, especially some of this

01:38youth where they've got redundancies at these positions in the infield, and try to make

01:43a deal.

01:44Go get a deal and cease, right?

01:45Go get a Michael King or go get a Sandy Alcantara at some point.

01:49Go get one of these pitchers.

01:51Because I don't know how they compete with the Yankees with what the Red Sox have done

01:56this offseason and what the Blue Jays look like.

01:58They've kind of assembled there, too, taking one of those Orioles with them and Anthony

02:03Santander.

02:04So I don't know what you look at this team.

02:06But for me, Matt, when I look at this Orioles team, and I know our producer, Sam, agrees

02:11with me, too, that this might be a regression year.

02:14It didn't go the way they wanted.

02:15They fell short of the World Series.

02:17It was very disappointing.

02:18But right now, their win total is 88 and a half, Matt.

02:22This doesn't look like an 88 and a half roster, at least to me.

02:24Your thoughts?

02:25OK.

02:26So, first thing, you made a great point, and don't think that's not maybe a plan about

02:30at some point in the season going out and getting one of these high-tier pitchers because

02:34of all the youth and all the capital that this team has.

02:37You ask about the win total, I'm glad you asked, Joe.

02:41Because again, it's about these teams that can play seven-inning baseball and then turn

02:44it over to a bullpen.

02:45Felix Bautista is back, and he was dominant.

02:48Then Andrew Kittredge is there.

02:50Then it's like Sir Anthony Dominguez and Gregory Soto.

02:52Basically, every guy that you and I have streamed over the last three years for Sades

02:56is in this Orioles' bullpen, and that's going to lead to victories for this team.

03:00I think they can kind of trim the fat and figure out what they're doing.

03:05Another loser that you wanted to talk about, I believe, is the Milwaukee Brewers.

03:08Thoughts?

03:09Yeah.

03:10Willie Adamas goes to San Francisco.

03:12That's a huge loss for this lineup.

03:14I don't feel comfortable of the number of games played for Christian Yelich every year.

03:18Jackson Cherry was a star, and if he continues to grow at that rate, maybe that's enough

03:23to compensate.

03:24At the same time, I'm looking at this rotation after Freddy Peralta.

03:26The only addition they made was Nestor Cortez, and I'm supposed to get excited about that?

03:30It's just not enough.

03:31You lose Devin Williams in the trade.

03:34You lose Frankie Montas.

03:36Give you some innings, at least, probably.

03:39This one is very puzzling to me, where you lose a guy in the middle of your order, a

03:42guy at the back of your bullpen who's been so good.

03:45I know McGill was okay there, filling in, so you feel pretty decent about that.

03:50I know every year I look at Milwaukee, and I'm kind of underwhelmed.

03:52At the same time, Matt, I'm underwhelmed again, yet they exceed expectations.

03:57I'm a little skeptical they could do that this year.

03:59I think the Cubs are better.

04:00I think Cincinnati takes a step forward.

04:02I think Pittsburgh takes a step forward.

04:04This division's a little bit more competitive, and you're nodding, so you must agree.

04:08Well, you're making good points, but you mentioned that closer role.

04:11Hear me now and believe me later.

04:13Joe L. Payne can go into that role, but this is a young team.

04:16You mentioned Shurio.

04:17He's 20.

04:18Frey looks like 24.

04:19Terang's 25.

04:20Ortiz is 26.

04:21Tyler Black's like 24.

04:24These teams can be disruptive, and those teams mess up a lot of my bets, Joe.

04:2982.5 is the win total for the Milwaukee Brewers, and they feel like kind of a 500 team, but

04:34in that division, I just wonder, maybe they're a little bit less.
