00:15Well, I have the right answer for you.

00:17I've never had so much fun than watching Shah Rukh Khan in Pathan.

00:21It's out in the UAE cinemas and this is my review.

00:25Firstly, if you were expecting a James Bond or a Top Gun kind of villain, then we have

00:31the answer for you because Shah Rukh Khan is in top form as a super spy in director

00:36Siddharth Anand's Pathan.

00:38One of the best parts about this film is that we have missed Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen.

00:42To see him return as a swashbuckling hero is a sight to behold.

00:47We have missed him a lot.

00:48The last we saw was in 2018 and I think both the director and the actor has realised his

00:54star power and decided that we are going to give the fans what they deserve.

00:58So if you're expecting a lot of machismo, swagger, swashbuckling stunts, then perhaps

01:04Pathan is right up your street.

01:07This movie is directed by Siddharth Anand who's known for his very glossy, high-octane

01:12stunt spectacles like Bang Bang and War.

01:15They had other actors but this is the first time that he's directing Shah Rukh Khan and

01:19I must say he's done a great job.

01:21One of the best parts about this film is of course John Abraham.

01:25I really loved him as a villain.

01:27Because it's not often that you see in a Bollywood film where you see a villain is as good as

01:32a hero.

01:33John Abraham looks menacing as Jim who's a mercenary.

01:37Pathan plays an Indian spy whereas Deepika Padukone plays a spy from Pakistan and whereas

01:44Jim plays a spy gone rogue from India.

01:48So now these are the three people who are sparring with each other and there's a lot

01:51of fun to be had.

01:52In fact, the movie takes you around the globe.

01:55Whatever travelling that you've not done in the past few years, well, it's like you can

01:59live vicariously through their global trotting.

02:02In fact, the movie takes you to Dubai, it takes you to Serbia.

02:05Some of the stunt sequences set in Dubai and in Serbia are just brilliant.

02:10It's like you can see heroes scoop from helicopters, you can see them go past collapsing bridges

02:16unscathed.

02:18Even when Pathan is at his lowest, he's being beaten into a pulp, he's simply invincible

02:22because for the next scenes you see him swoop off buildings.

02:25Now these are superheroes of Bollywood and I have to say there is also a cameo that I

02:29enjoyed thoroughly.

02:31In fact, one of the best parts about the movie is, I'm sure you already know, it's not a

02:35spoiler, Salman Khan makes a cameo.

02:38He plays Tiger from the other installments from Yash Raj Films.

02:41So what we have is both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan doing what they do best.

02:47They spar on the big screen, they have verbal sparring.

02:50In fact, one of the last climax scenes has been done so well, there's a lot of humour

02:54as well.

02:55This is a spy, Pathan is a spy, which gives you a mix of, he's like a generous mix of

03:00both swagger and there's also substance in him, there's a lot of style attached to it.

03:05Both Deepika and Shah Rukh have a lot of chemistry also going for each other.

03:09So if you're in the mood to watch a film that is high on stunts and style, perhaps this

03:14is for you.

03:15Don't look for plots in it.

03:17Some of the plot twists are predictable, but that's a small blip in an otherwise enjoyable

03:23film.

03:24I've given it 3.5 out of 5.
