00:00So, what is golf?

00:03Well, golf's a game played in nature.

00:05We play on some of the most amazing landscapes to be found.

00:08We start on the tee box, which is where we're standing now.

00:11We call this the start line, and the idea in golf is to hit your ball from the tee into

00:15the hole, which is found on the green, in the least number of shots.

00:19So, a standard golf course is 18 holes, and each hole is a different length.

00:23We have par threes, par fours, and par fives.

00:26The regulation putts on each of those greens would be two, so we could say that obviously

00:30one shot to reach the par threes, two shots to reach the par fours, and three shots to

00:34reach those par fives.

00:35You'll obviously see on TV how the pros can get there in less shots, and so if our score

00:41is minus the par we're doing well, so the least number of shots, and if it's over par,

00:46then we need to practice.

00:49Golf is usually practiced on driving ranges, and we practice all those different facets

00:53from putting on the green through to the driving, that explosive power, and if you have a top

00:57golf nearby, let the fun and games begin.

01:02So we can enjoy working on our technique on the driving range and having fun.

01:05Some courses here in the UAE are lucky enough to have a par three, just like ours here at

01:09the Emirates.

01:10You can get straight out there on day one, and that's because we have different tee lengths.

01:14So out here on this hole we have 130 yards, right the way to the forward tee, which is

01:1840 yards away from the green.

01:19You can almost throw it on the green, so it's that easy.

01:22And on the green also we have a big 18-inch cup, and then a smaller golf hole.

01:26So obviously when you're starting you can come out here and play from the front tee

01:29into the big hole and have some fun.

01:32But the best thing about golf is being out here in nature, enjoying all those physical

01:36and mental benefits, and of course it can be enjoyed by everybody of any age, for your

01:40entire life.
