Our fave Stockportian actress Aimee Lou Wood drops some major teases for 'The White Lotus' season three – and tells us about her fave music by Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Lianne La Havas.

00:11It's Amy Lee Wood. How are you doing?

00:13Hi, good thank you. How are you?

00:14I'm good.

00:15Have you heard the new intro banger for this season?

00:17Yeah, it's amazing.

00:18Yeah.

00:19I mean, it's so, it's such a banger.

00:21But it always was going to be. It's inevitable.

00:23I mean, The White Lotus theme tune.

00:26And I was saying as well, bring theme tunes back.

00:28Exactly, yeah.

00:29Do you remember when I was younger, everything had a theme tune.

00:32And then it kind of went away.

00:34Well, so you can skip it on Netflix, that's the thing.

00:36I know, and we shouldn't be allowed.

00:38It's one of the best parts of the experience.

00:41And especially on The White Lotus.

00:43And like here, I was saying before that me and Nick, who plays Zion,

00:47we were like walking back to our rooms one night in this hotel

00:49and there was a wedding going on.

00:51And on the wind, the theme tune came.

00:53Like we could hear, they were dancing to the theme tune.

00:55From a different wedding.

00:56And we were like, such a magical moment.

00:58I had no idea you were there.

00:59That's so funny.

01:00Such a magical moment.

01:01I was actually chatting to Natasha Rothwell just now, who plays Belinda.

01:04And she said that at the wrap party,

01:07they were playing all of the different seasons.

01:09Do you have a favourite?

01:10I feel like season two was the one that was like,

01:12you could really get like, and I remember the first time that happened.

01:16Because I feel like it didn't actually happen, that switch,

01:18until like maybe episode three or four.

01:20And then this other bit kicked in and I was like, whoa, okay.

01:23But I think that's the most fun to dance to.

01:26But I just remember hearing it for the first time

01:29and being like, this is good.

01:32Like in season one, I was like, oh my God, I love this.

01:35Strong start, strong opening to this show

01:38that I knew nothing about, but I loved the theme tune.

01:40How of your friends and family,

01:42who was the most excited when you told them you were going to be in the show?

01:45Everyone was pretty excited.

01:47I think it's probably the most excited everyone has been.

01:50Because it's the thing that like everyone's seen.

01:53So like my mates, but also my family,

01:56like it's kind of, it was quite,

01:59I mean, my best friend bought me a bucket hat

02:01that said these gays are trying to murder me.

02:03Because we're that obsessed with the show

02:05and that obsessed with Jennifer in the show.

02:07And then I sent Mike a picture of me wearing that hat,

02:10like the day I found out I got the part.

02:12And he was like, oh my God.

02:13But like, I am an actual super fan.

02:15And so are all my friends.

02:17So it was, everyone was pretty excited.

02:20Did you ever run into anyone like Jennifer Coolidge from the show

02:23when you were doing that sort of awards parties circuit?

02:26No, I didn't.

02:27I would, I hope to meet Jennifer

02:29and just tell her how much I love her.

02:31But I kind of know Leo from season two.

02:35Yeah, Leo Woodall.

02:36Yeah, and he, that was really helpful

02:39because he was, he knows what the experience is like.

02:42So he was checking me.

02:43And what an experience for Leo in that show.

02:45What an experience.

02:46But he was checking in like every now and then

02:49while I was in Thailand, like,

02:50hey Amy, just checking in, how you doing?

02:52And that was really helpful to know someone.

02:55And then I think on like the fourth time he checked in,

02:57I was like, I'm not okay.

02:59And I just had this whole thing

03:01and he was so good at the perspective thing.

03:03But it was also amazing having Natasha there.

03:05She's experienced it before.

03:07So like, it was, that felt very like anchoring.

03:11What are you getting upset about as well?

03:13Yeah, she's been through it and this is just the way it goes.

03:16And it's just, this is that point that we're at

03:19in the kind of social experiment thing

03:21where these things start happening

03:22and it's normal and it's fine.

03:24So any kind of perspective like that was really helpful.

03:26Was it just the intensity of the shooting

03:28because you were out there for so long

03:29that was overwhelming?

03:30Or was it the story or?

03:31I think it was a mix of everything.

03:33And like the lack of distance,

03:36because usually you wrap and you go home.

03:37Yeah.

03:38You don't wrap and walk like five steps

03:40and be like, night, into your room.

03:42Like you are living while you're filming.

03:44Like it is the Truman Show.

03:45It is actually starts to feel like the Truman Show.

03:48Like you're like, is anything real?

03:50Like you're on the most beautiful beach

03:51but then there's lights over there

03:52and you kind of go in like,

03:53everything just feels like a set.

03:55And so there's no distance.

03:58So it all starts to get a little bit,

03:59which is probably why like the performances

04:01in the past two seasons,

04:02I understand now why they're so,

04:03because the lines get very blurred

04:06and it all gets quite claustrophobic.

04:07And so you have to kind of like,

04:10really rely on each other to keep sane.

04:13Yeah.

04:14Because it is a bit like Big Brother

04:15or something like that.

04:16Like it really is.

04:17Less C-list celebs.

04:19Yeah.

04:20Like the A-list version of whatever,

04:22you know, all these Hollywood actors

04:24in Big Brother.

04:26It feels so odd.

04:27So your character, Chelsea,

04:28has got some great lines.

04:29My favourite is when she's been hit on by the pool

04:32and someone says,

04:33how do you get a drink around here?

04:34And she goes,

04:35you walk up to the bar and you ask for one.

04:36Yeah.

04:37I also saw an interview that you did

04:38with Nicola Coughlin on Capital Radio

04:41and you said that lots of the things I say in the show,

04:44I've said in real life.

04:46Is that one of them?

04:47I wish that was one of them.

04:49I wish I was as cool as Chelsea

04:51to just reply to someone like that.

04:53Like, but I have not.

04:55I wish that was one of them.

04:56But you do have it in your locker now.

04:58I do.

05:01because she's so,

05:02she's just,

05:03she seems so sweet

05:04and then you're like,

05:05oh actually,

05:06she's also not to be messed with.

05:07So I love that about her.

06:28and all of that stuff.
