00:16from bodies or groups that wish to hold a peaceful assembly.

00:27The government has agreed to amend the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012

00:31to make it easier for the public to hold gatherings,

00:34Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said today.

00:36Anwar said key changes include the abolition of Section 11,

00:41which mandates that organisers must seek consent from property owners

00:45or occupants before holding an assembly.

00:48Investigations will be halted and no action will be taken.

00:59There will also be no action taken against those who committed

01:06sexual assaults and abuse by social workers a few days ago.

01:13However, Anwar said assemblies involving weapons or young children

01:17would still be prohibited.

01:19Anwar was responding to Ku Pui Tiong,

01:22who asked whether the government is prepared

01:24to amend the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
