I really look forward to Ramadan for many reasons. One of them is
00:07
from since childhood I love the iftar food. I kind of really enjoy the iftar
00:14
food. You get more time at home, you get more time with friends and family. We
00:20
generally stay up until Suhoor. We switch off immediately after Suhoor until 9am.
00:25
You know so that would be a typical routine. I love staying up until Suhoor.
00:29
You know it gives me so much time because you know once during the
00:33
daytime you you've completed your work you come home and then once I reach home
00:38
it's iftar then after that you get a little bit of time to rest and relax and
00:42
then you go for Taraweeh and then you come back you have your dinner and then
00:45
you have all the time until Suhoor to spend with your family. Especially my
00:48
younger daughter if she is fasting she's only six and a half and if she's fasting
00:53
she's very very clear. She needs to have an elaborate Suhoor somewhere outside.
00:58
She cannot have milk and egg and regular Suhoor at home. No she needs to be taken
01:02
to some fine-dine place at maybe one o'clock in the night have a nice
01:07
elaborate Suhoor. So she's properly ready. My elder one she's ten and a half
01:13
and she's been fasting all these days doing her school as well. She's not that
01:18
picky about Suhoor. I love Suhoor because you get to have it.
01:24
I love Suhoor because you get to wake up and be with your family and just eat.
01:30
Oh wait same stuff same stuff we are so same.
01:34
This is I think my husband's childhood he's been eating this every single day
01:38
in Ramadan so he irrespective of what we cook he needs this. This and there's
01:44
another thing that we prepare every day that is also I don't know that's also
01:50
black gram that's also preparation which we have to make every single day
01:55
in Ramadan because he cannot do without it.
01:59
So what is it? Is it because you grew up with this?
02:01
Yeah it reminds me of my childhood. I feel I'm still a child if I eat these you know and to be
02:10
very honest it reminds me of my grandmom you know I spent a lot of my
02:14
childhood with my grandfather and my grandmother and she used to prepare
02:19
mouth-watering food you know like my mom as well and my wife but I mean she was a
02:24
different level and those two things remind me of my grandmother I can't live
02:27
without it you know I really love it.
02:30
Did you learn this recipe from his mother?
02:32
Yeah you can say so yeah I did I did some research of the best way to do it and I
02:38
think I'm not as good as his grandmother but yeah pretty much he's happy with it
02:43
so I'm happy.
02:46
I mean around the table it's a fun time you know
02:48
it's like you know you you you talk about so many things you talk about like
02:53
when we got married when I was born when my wife was born my kids when the kids
02:59
were born how things have changed over the period of time how Ramadan has
03:04
changed how the cultures have evolved you know so many things I mean it's
03:09
diverse isn't it so yeah that's how it is yeah
