Avengers: Endgame UAE premiere: Fans react

On Tuesday night, UAE-based fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were some of the first people to be treated to a screening of the culmination to the 11-year-long saga that is the Avengers arc. 00:00I've just seen the film now and it was absolutely phenomenal. It did exceed expectations.

00:11Hi guys, this is Shyama Krishnakumar from Garfield's tabloid and we're at Fox Cinemas,

00:15Mall of the Emirates to attend the premiere of Avengers Endgame.

00:1911 years, 22 movies and one united fandom, it's all coming to a head today.

00:24In about 30 minutes we're just going to go in, watch the movie and come back out here

00:27and meet with the fans and find out if the movie holds up to its expectations. Stay tuned.

00:32I cried a lot. Yeah, we cried. It was really good.

00:56Who did you like the best? Who was the boss of the movie?

00:58The Spider-Man. No, no, no. I love Spider-Man.

01:03The movie is pretty good. It caps off the whole series really well.

01:07I think my favourite character was Hulk. He was really cool. I didn't see that happening.

01:12So that'll be a surprise for everyone.

01:13Did you have to cry at all?

01:14Oh yeah, a little. There were a few scenes. I don't know if people will be prepared for that.

01:18So yeah, it'll be good.

01:19Can you tell us, without spoiling anything, a big moment, like how you felt?

01:23Oh, big moment. No, I can't say anything without spoiling something.

01:28That's fine.

01:29That's pretty good.

01:31It was absolutely phenomenal. It did exceed expectations.

01:35What about Captain Marvel?

01:36Oh, absolutely, absolutely. She was pretty darn great, I must say.

01:43Was there any time when you felt overwhelmed?

01:46There was one time.

01:49I must say, I think just in general, girl power has sort of had a very, very good sort of moment in the spotlight.

01:57It was very refreshing to kind of see that, you know, a little bit of that happening a bit more so in this film.

02:04I'm speechless. I mean, it's a satisfying ending, if I may say so.

02:09It's a satisfying ending, but at the same time, it's like, it's bittersweet, I would say.

02:15But it's something like, yeah, that's how it's gonna be.

02:17Did you have to cry?

02:19At least three times, I would say. Three times. My friend can vouch for that.

02:23He was like, dude, are you okay? I'm not okay, of course. This is the end.

02:28It's really, really difficult to do without spoiling it, so I guess I'll just encompass it in one word.

02:36It's a lot of emotions. It's like a rollercoaster.

02:39I won't say where the rollercoaster goes and stuff like that, but just wow.

02:44I'm gonna go see it tomorrow, actually.

02:47Yep.

02:49Tomorrow, the day after, the weekend after that, and the weekend after that.

02:54Personally, I enjoyed the film a lot. I actually liked Robert Downey Jr.'s acting.

02:58Mark Ruffalo was great. Scarlett Johansson was kind of good, but I liked Tom Holland the most.

03:04He actually played a great role in the movie. His acting was the best.

03:08And then, Doctor Strange, also known as Benedict Cumberbatch.

03:12He also played a great part in the movie.

03:16I would rate his character 4 out of 5 in this movie compared to what he played in Infinity War.

03:21Were you emotional through the movie at all?

03:23Yeah, actually, the last sequence is the most emotional sequence.

03:26No spoilers, though. I request everybody, no spoilers, please.

03:30Respect the 11 years that we have waited and the 20 movies we have watched.

03:34It's an epic movie. Two thumbs up. It's rocking, good direction, great acting.

03:39And guys, you're gonna love it, you're gonna enjoy it.

03:41Especially the final sequence.

03:43And did you watch all the movies together?

03:45Yes, we are a Marvel family, as you can tell.

03:48We've just watched the movie, and I am a wreck right now.

03:52It's been one hell of a rollercoaster ride, and it's gonna take a while to process these emotions.

03:58Definitely watch the movie a couple of times again.

04:00But it's definitely a movie that will satisfy any kind of Marvel fan.

04:04So it's a definite watch, and if I had to give it a rating, I'd give it a 5 out of 5 right now.
