00:00This group was formed in January of this year when we had a little reunion for our university

00:24choir.

00:25The group decided to continue with their passion in singing.

00:36They were members of the famous University of San Agustin Chubaduros in Iloilo City,

00:42Philippines.

00:43This group is just very inspiring.

00:46So as a Filipino, it helps me feel like home and it makes me feel like inspired.

00:52It feels like you don't miss home at all.

00:57Actually Dubai Camerata Singers, this is one of the big help for me as a Filipino here

01:02in Dubai because through singing, I can meet a lot of people who also have the same interests.

01:08Philippines is a Christian country and this is the, I think December 25th is the most

01:16awaited time of the year for the Filipinos.

01:19I think music makes the event more joyful and happy for everyone.

01:30We're around 30 but as of now, we are like actively performing at 23.

01:37There's nurse, there's managers, there's music teachers.

01:41It's mixed actually.

01:43I work in a medical center that caters the needs of the special needs children, especially

01:48children who have autism.

01:52Hi, my name is Stuart Kenneth Briones.

01:55I'm a music teacher.

01:57I'm the only non-Filipino guy in this Dubai Camerata Singers.

02:00I just came to know about this Dubai Camerata Singers in a way like, it's quite very funny,

02:07you know.

02:08Once I come to my gym, in the same floor, these guys used to practice and at that moment,

02:12I just listen to their vocal tessituras while they're practicing, I just listen to that

02:17and just get into them and I introduce myself with them and they just grab me.

02:23The balilaka, yeah, it's totally difficult because it's very new to us and it's like

02:29a tongue twister and it's so fast, we have to follow all the sequence of it.

02:36I think one month is not enough for the song to be memorized and to master, but we are

02:42enjoying it because it's like an upbeat song.

02:45I'm doing a tough practice right now.

02:47Basically, like two hours to three hours, that's fine.

02:51The music that we create helps me and inspires me every day to hone my talents more.

02:59My outlet, like if I feel tired, if I feel alone, if I feel bored, I just listen to music

03:06and I think it gives me a different kind of energy.

03:09It's like a diversion.

03:11It's like getting out from this box and then feeling and singing and feeling everything around you.
