Harvey Willgoose: Mum of teen killed at school recalls moment she learned the news

The heartbroken mother of a teenager who was fatally stabbed at school, has told of the "horrendous" moment she found out he had been attacked.

00:00I was getting ready to go to work, so we were on afternoons, and Mark's mum rang me and said,

00:09you need to get in touch with Sophie, something serious has happened, and then Mark shouted.

00:13So I rang Mark, and I said, your mum said I've got to get in touch with Sophie, and he went,

00:18and he just shouted at the phone, he's been stabbed, he's been stabbed, it's serious, it's serious.

00:23And then as soon as he said that, the police car came up and went, you need to come with us now,

00:28and I'm just like, what? It's just horrendous. Because blue lights, we were going to go to Northern General,

00:35and then we've got blue lights on, me and my son were there, and then they said,

00:41we're going to Children's to turn blue lights off, and I still thought, it's alright.

00:52And I just said, Dad, you think he's alright? And I said, yeah.

00:57And when the towel goes, I think I've just said to them, it needs to be as blunt as,

01:07show that video, show that video of us being told that our son has been,

01:14show that video of us going to Children's Bodega, and identifying him,

01:19hearing how we were, it needs to be as blunt as that, and if they've got that on video, show it.

01:27Was Harvey still alive when you got to the hospital? Or had he passed?

01:31No, he passed. He said he passed, but he couldn't get out, because he'd passed at the school.
