00:09Security forces in the Maldives stormed the Supreme Court overnight, arresting two judges

00:14and later a top opposition politician after the government declared a state of emergency

00:20in the Indian Ocean nation famous for its luxurious resorts.

00:23The government of President Yameen Abdullah Bayoum has moved to assert its power since

00:28the Supreme Court ordered several imprisoned opposition politicians to be freed late last

00:33week. The government announced a 15-day state of emergency on Monday night, giving it sweeping

00:39powers including to make arrests, search and seize property, and restrict freedom of assembly.

00:46Irresponsible internet users may land you in jail under the cybercrime rules of the

00:50UAE and invite a fine of 1 million dirhams, according to the Ministry of Interior. Those

00:56who are found engaging in triggering destructive radical ideology that contradicts religion,

01:01culture and the country's values may be imprisoned for five years and fined up to 2 million dirhams,

01:08said the authorities gathered at a press conference to mark Safer Internet Day 2018.

01:14Global financial markets are braced for another day of chaos as Asian markets continue to

01:19fall overnight. India's Sensex lost 1,250 points in early trading, unnerved by Monday's

01:26sell-off on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by 1,175 points on Monday

01:35in its largest one-day points fall on record as investors appear to panic over the prospect

01:40of central banks raising interest rates.

01:44British actor Hugh Grant has settled his phone hacking damages claim against Mirror Group

01:49newspapers. Grant was at the High Court when the details of the settlement were provided

01:53at a hearing. Grant said the newspaper group had engaged in industrial-scale phone hacking.
