00:00I would love to make a small film. If there's a story that comes my way and it needs a newcomer,

00:12I would definitely make a film with a newcomer. It just so happened that after a certain point

00:16when I started making these films and I started working with stars, then you sort of start

00:21liking the way you work together. So you give them the first right of refusal. If they take

00:26it on then why would you say no to a star? A film with a star will always get much more

00:30attention. A film with a star, a mainstream film will always travel that much further.

00:34See for me, I'm coming from a documentary background and I've always been what I call

00:39you know preaching to the converted. I've often wondered that you know you're saying

00:43something but it's not reaching far enough, it's not reaching wide enough and the most

00:48powerful medium in our country is mainstream cinema and mainstream cinema with a superstar

00:54is as big as you can get because then the message really travels far and wide. I think

00:59the story dictates its own scale. There are certain stories I think which would work best

01:03with superstars. There are certain stories that don't need a superstar and if I have

01:06a story that doesn't need a big star, I would definitely go for the with a small actor or

01:11a newcomer or lesser known star.
