00:00The UAE's planned mission to Mars in 2021 will study the planet's atmosphere and is

00:16named HOPE. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime

00:21Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, has announced. The probe is to be launched in

00:252020 and moving at a speed of up to 126,000 km per hour should reach Mars in 200 days.

00:33The mission will last until 2023 with a possible extension to 2025 and will be managed by a

00:39team of up to 150 Emirati scientists and engineers supervised by the UAE Space Agency. The team

00:46hopes the data gathered should lead to the construction of the first model of daily and

00:50season weather patterns on Mars and their interaction with the planet's topography.

00:55Polls have opened in Britain's closest general election for decades with voters set to decide

00:59between the Conservatives of Prime Minister David Cameron, Ed Miliband's Labour and a

01:04host of smaller parties. Doors at polling stations across the country opened at 7am

01:10local time and will remain open until 10pm. The final result is due on Friday, though

01:15voters may have to wait days for a new government in the likely event of a hung parliament.

01:51cancel all domestic matches in a row over TV rights and the shutdown will affect the

01:56penultimate round of fixtures due to take place on May 17. And finally, the weather

02:01today's high across the UAE will be 40 degrees Celsius dropping to 29 degrees at night. That's
