00:00The controversial US pop diva Lady Gaga landed in Dubai Monday night for her first ever show

00:22in the Middle East.

00:23The pop star is scheduled to perform at the Maidan Racecourse on September 10.

00:30Clad in a floor-length golden gown paired with a sparkling blue headpiece created by

00:34Dubai-based designer, Lady Gaga met members of the press in a VIP room at the Dubai International

00:40Airport shortly after landing.

00:42The singer talked about clothes, her show and what she'll be doing in the UAE.

01:12But I actually believe that it's important to respect other cultures and not force them

01:19to adhere to the beliefs of your own country and in fact I think it is a better way to

01:24connect with the people and connect the message.

01:27Most importantly while I'm here I'd like to leave a message of light and happiness and

01:34creativity and freedom with the fans and that is more important than my clothes.

01:40Her world tour Art Crave, the art pop ball, has been a year in the making.

01:44She said she'll be in Dubai for four days and hopes to experience the local fashion,

01:48food and artistry.

01:49We planned this tour for over a year and I'm very excited to share it with all my fans.

01:56I have really really been part, it was a strong heartache not being able to be near them so

02:03thank you for giving me the opportunity to come be with them.

02:07I have always put art in the front and with art pop I wanted to make a statement about

02:13the kind of music and artists that I've always been, something that would be iconic for my

02:20fans that they could always say we are students of art pop, we put art in the front.

02:26I hope while I'm here in Dubai that I can speak about supporting the artists, supporting

02:33creativity and part of that will be in my traveling around Dubai to support young designers

02:40to see their clothes as well as listening to local Dubai music and food, those sorts

02:47of things.

02:48I really believe that the artist is the one who should be put in the front of the commercial.

02:54When it comes to Little Monsters and Me, it is about much more than just the music, it

02:59is about the message, a message of equality, a message of uniqueness and strength, a message

03:06of compassion where we support one another and I'm excited to see them because around

03:12the world monsters are all linked by the same sort of connection and message so I can't

03:18wait to give them a hug and thank them for bringing me here.

03:23This is a magnificent opportunity for a young Italian girl from New York with a modest Italian

03:30American family.

03:32After the press meet, Lady Gaga went outside to meet her passionate fans, some of whom

03:37came all the way from Turkey and Bahrain.
