Dubai is a melting pot of nationalities, which is why, when looking down the streets, you'll
00:03
find shops catering to every community. We take a tour of some of these shops and see
00:08
what they have to offer.
00:09
For the Filipino community in Dubai, Philippine Supermarket is where you can go to get your
00:14
pancit noodles, tilapia or calamansi juice, among other local specialties.
00:18
Filipinos, they have their own product, fish. They are very, very much interested in that.
00:25
Like bangus, and they call it in other languages, they say milk fish. They really like their
00:32
own product, which is century tuna or blue bay tuna. It's very famous. We have both of
00:36
them.
00:37
The supermarket also serves takeaway sago and halo-halo drinks, some of their fastest
00:42
selling products.
00:45
Green Tree Supermarket, which has been open since 1986, is a one-stop shop for the Egyptian
00:50
and Sudanese community in the UAE.

Located in Bur Dubai, Bee Kingdom has been open for over 20 years. Honey sold in the
01:32
shop comes from Pakistan, Yemen, UAE, and Oman.
01:43
As well as being a table condiment, most of the shop's customers buy honey for its medicinal
01:47
properties, which are mixed right here by the shop owner.
01:51
For example, if you put honey in the liver of a goat, it's the food for the bees.

02:28
for its sweetness. Because of the way they're grown, melons can be sold for as much as 360
02:34

02:35
Even though the prices are very high, but once they get to know the quality, then they
02:41
often come back.
02:43
