00:00Dubbed as the Middle East's largest street theater and comedy fair, Alguerra Center's

00:20DubFest showcased the talents of 30 international acts from at least 12 countries performing

00:25in more than 300 shows on Alriga Street in Dera.

00:28Previously known as Dubai Street Festival, the DubFest International Street Theater and

00:33Comedy Fair is a free-to-watch, 10-day event taking place on the streets within Alguerra

00:38Center.

00:39It's all about bringing acts to the actual street themselves, instead of being in a theater

00:45or people having to pay for tickets, you go to a street and you perform and you entertain

00:49people right there.

00:50Dubai is just an amazing place to do street theater because it's so new to do stuff here.

00:55People haven't really experienced this kind of art form before.

01:05The event features 200 hours of free entertainment including performances by a multi-awarded

01:10group of breakdancers from New York.

01:15It's an interactive family show, we kind of like engage the audience and we do some classic

01:22breakdance moves, the headspins, the windmills, the backspins, all that stuff that you expect

01:26to see in a break, the choreography, and the other part is the audience.

01:30The audience is part of the show, we pull them out, we have fun, a lot of laughter,

01:34good energy.

01:35It's a little difficult to get them to come out and participate in the show because it's

01:39kind of new to them but it's like a lesson, I'm teaching them as they go, I tell the people

01:43in the audience that volunteers are important and they're starting to understand it and

01:47it's getting better as we go.

01:58Popular among visitors is the Mute Show, which features two pantomime performers from Thailand

02:03in a unique and fun act suitable for all ages.

02:10The Mute Show is the show that has the foundation of pantomime, but it's a combination of many

02:21kinds of performances, like clown, pantomime, music, creative ideas, something like that.

02:34We do what we like and all of the stories are the stories near us, near people, and

02:46people will understand very easily.

02:52The festival also includes street painting, escapists, street comedians, a one-man rock

02:58band, jugglers, stunt shows, and magicians.

03:02Most of the performers encourage audience participation.

03:04Organizers say they plan to make DogFest a major annual tourist attraction in the Emirate.
