Mount Etna has staged a mesmerising spectacle with lava spewing from the Bocca Nuova crater, illuminating the snowy surroundings of the volcano's summit.
The 3,330-metre-high volcano is the tallest in Europe, and is believed to have the longest documented history of eruptions among all volcanoes.
