00:04Gaza and Palestine are the two topics where the Malaysian stance deserves appreciation.

00:20The resolution of the issue depends on ending the Israeli occupation, which remains the

00:24core problem.

00:32I think just like it was the case previously, as a result of the latest ceasefire, Israel

00:38failed to keep its promises.

00:41The Israeli occupation should end once and for all, and the destruction caused by the

00:47Israelis should be compensated.

00:49In this regard, the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and territorially integrated Palestinian

00:55state with East Jerusalem as its capital is essential, based on the 1967 borders.

01:02Turkey and Malaysia will continue their efforts and support for Palestine without slowing

01:07down.

01:15I have one question each for both of you.

01:17For Dato' Sri, given Malaysia's current role as ASEAN chair, how do you envision Turkey's

01:23role in strengthening its ties with ASEAN nations and contributing in cooperation of

01:29critical issues, such as the reconstruction of Gaza?

01:34Okay, my question for President Erdogan.

01:36What are Turkey's key priorities in strengthening ties with Malaysia, and how does this align

01:42with the country's broader engagement in Southeast Asia?

01:49ASEAN has taken a position to support urgent ceasefire in Gaza, and in the process we call

02:00reconstruction, we are committed to ensure that adequate support is given.

02:06The foreign minister, Thomas Hassan, last month had an engagement with all the foreign

02:11ministers where they reiterated that position.

02:15I'll continue engagement with all the leaders so that we can give the adequate support to

02:22the Japan initiative co-chaired with Malaysia for an immediate reconstruction of Gaza.

02:30Just like my distinguished brother mentioned, ASEAN member states will be most welcome to

02:45move together in order to eradicate the victimization of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

02:55How can we be of further help, whether it be humanitarian or financial?

03:01It's not a responsibility solely to be assumed by Malaysia nor Turkey.

03:07This is not something that we have – we can achieve alone, but if we were to move

03:12together as the ASEAN nations, we can surmount this enormous hurdle.

03:17As I have previously stated, this is a two-dimensional issue.

03:23Financial and humanitarian aid is required for Gaza.

03:33In-kind assistance will be required down the line, and I think we are more than capable

03:38of providing anything that is needed.

03:41These are some of the issues we have discussed bilaterally, but we haven't only focused

03:52on Palestine, but we also focused on Syria because there is no infrastructure or superstructure

03:57left behind.

03:59The country was destroyed, and thanks to the steps we might take forward jointly, we can

04:06focus on realizing infrastructure and superstructure projects in Syria as well.

04:13And our interlocutors will be focusing on these possible scenarios, and we will respond

04:19duly.
