00:00A dividend of more than 5.8% is expected for conventional savings with EPF last year, a

00:08slight increase from the 5.5% declared in 2023.

00:14According to a source in The Know, the rate for shahriyah savings is expected to be from

00:195.4% to 5.6%.

00:24The source said the figures were a safe bet, and a final figure is expected to be announced

00:29by EPF in early March.

00:32The total payout for conventional accounts in 2023 was RM50.33 billion and RM7.48 billion

00:41for shahriyah savings.

00:44The EPF has an estimated 16 million members, with more than 8.5 million active contributors.

00:52Recent news reports have quoted several economists saying that the likelihood of last year's

00:56dividends being over 6% is high, based on strong performance in the third quarter of

01:022024.

01:04For the first nine months last year, EPF posted an investment income of RM57.57 billion, a

01:1220% increase from RM47.86 billion during the same period in 2023.
