Trains vanish from London King's Cross departure boards early

Network Rail has sparked a backlash from commuters after removing trains from departure boards at one of London’s busiest stations three minutes before they depart.A trial has been launched at King’s Cross in a bid to ease the last-minute rush of passengers running to reach their trains.

00:04Network Rail has started removing long distance trains from the station's departure boards before departures.

00:10Trains will now disappear around 3 minutes before they actually leave, in a bid to ease a last minute rush of passengers.

00:17Some people have complained that this is patronising, or are worried that this might make them even more likely to rush.

00:22So Network Rail have clarified that boarding times haven't changed, and that people can still hop on up to 20 minutes early if they'd like.

00:29They've also put posters around the station, which include details explaining why they've made these changes.

00:35And a Tannoy announcement telling people the train is departing also runs before it disappears from the board.
