Victorian man charged with making death threats to Federal MP

A Victorian man has been charged with making death threats and antisemitic comments to a Federal MP.

00:13on several occasions on January 16-18.

00:18And Victoria Police alleged he also used social media to contact a Victorian-based state MP

00:23last month.

00:24He's a 33-year-old man from the Melbourne suburb of Reservoir.

00:28Officers searched his home on Thursday and seized several electronic devices.

00:33He has been granted bail and will face court again in April.

00:37He's been charged by the Special Operations Avalade, which is a team that was formed in

00:42December with more than 20 AFP officers to investigate anti-Semitic conduct.

00:48Last month they laid their first charges against a Sydney man.

00:51Last week they charged a Victorian man in a separate incident.

00:55Victoria Police say they expect more arrests to come because several individuals remain

00:59under investigation.
