00:09Like this wasn't the first time we traveled separately together.

00:12We would, you know, quite often here and there in the past.

00:17So I never would have thought this would have happened.

00:19Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, is sharing insight into the singer's final days.

00:24In her first interview since the One Direction star's tragic passing, the influencer told

00:28The Sun that it still doesn't feel fully real that the 31-year-old is gone, as she

00:32also revealed why she left him in Argentina.

00:35Originally, we thought we were only going to be in Argentina for about a week, give

00:39or take, a little less, a little more.

00:41And after two weeks, we, I had a responsibility.

00:44We had a responsibility.

00:46We had our dog.

00:47And obviously, I never would have thought this event would have occurred.

00:51I never would have thought that this would have happened.

00:55Kate also shared how she found out Liam had passed.

00:58I was in our home alone.

01:00I was with our dog.

01:02So I was, I was alone.

01:04And I, yeah, I just still thinking about that is, it's been, it's, it's just insane to me.

01:16I was actually scrolling on TikTok right before I got a phone call.

01:21And that's how I found out, unfortunately.

01:22Who made the call?

01:23One of Liam's friends called me.

01:25So.

01:26Can you remember that call?

01:27It's literally blacked out in my head.

01:29I just, I didn't believe it at first at all.

01:32I genuinely thought it was just a rumor, you know, or some made up thing that somebody

01:39made up just to get views online.

01:43And instantly, I just had a bad feeling in my gut.

01:46I was like, why would somebody make this up?

01:48I just completely blacked out.

01:49I felt just numb.

01:50When I officially found the news to be true, it just, once again, I just fully was numb.

01:56I just didn't believe it.

01:57Did you do anything like ring him or text him or try and?

02:01I did.

02:02I tried to call him.

02:03I called pretty much everybody.

02:05I just, you know, when you're in that mindset, you just call, just like, it's just insane.

02:12Just my mind was, I just remember pacing around the house.

02:15I wasn't able to sleep at all the first night.

02:19And in a way, I almost felt, I was almost in a way happy that I didn't sleep because

02:25I was terrified that of any dreams I would have, it would be almost like a nightmare

02:29but turned into a reality.

02:32She then opened up about how it took a while for her to process that the tragedy really

02:35took place, adding that it sunk in for her while she was at the couple's new house with

02:39her mom.

02:40I was in hysterical, you know, hysterical mode, but I also, there was parts of me that

02:46I felt myself just, this isn't real.

02:49So I would just be numb.

02:50I felt no emotion.

02:51I think one thing for me that was a really big kind of a reality that really sunk in

02:57that he wasn't here when he was obviously in Argentina and I left, we just moved into

03:02a new house.

03:03That's when it finally, I remember just sitting on the couch with my mom and that's when I

03:06just completely broke down.

03:08And that's when I think everything shattered for me because that's when I like realized

03:12like I'm never going to see him again.

03:13I'm never, he's never going to come into, we're never going to be in a home again together.

03:19It was just, that's when it really did hit me.

03:23Kate who shared that she's seeing a grief counselor also revealed her last text messages

03:27to Liam and said that she never expected the incident to occur.

03:31Later adding that she stuck with him through thick and thin.

03:34Again, I think the last message from what I remember that I sent him was, I can't wait

03:38for you to come home and for me and all to be a family again together.

03:42And I can't wait for you to see the house because obviously he knew I was decorating

03:45it.

03:46So that's the last message that I messaged him.

03:49You know, I stuck through, I stuck with Liam through, you know, thick and thin.

03:53And I think love is so, you know, optimistic and you just hope that everything will work

03:59out between, you know, every, you know, everything at the end will work out.

04:03Did you ever foresee him dying young?

04:05Because I think he spoke saying he thought maybe he would die young or something.

04:09No, I never, you know, you never think that the worst possible thing can happen to, you

04:16know, no matter what it is, whether it's a family member getting sick or just a car,

04:20like it doesn't matter.

04:21You never, ever think that's going to happen.

04:23And it's just, I never would have thought that it would ever, you know, have turned

04:27out the way it did.

04:29And I'm still just, you know, wrapping my head around it.

04:33The U.S.-based influencer also detailed his funeral, which had been attended by all the

04:37other members of the former boy band, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and

04:42Zayn Malik.

04:44I went with my mom, my friends that were also friends of Liam's.

04:53We all went together and I had, once again, like such a great support system.

04:58It was so great to have all of those people that I loved and Liam loved so much by my

05:03side that day.

05:05The funeral was, you know, beautiful and it was a day, you know, I'll never forget.

05:11And you could just feel Liam in the room with you.

05:16The Sun notes that Kate still calls Liam's phone to hear his voicemail recording, but

05:20says she has put a pause on listening to his music, sharing, quote, maybe one day, but

05:24not right now.

05:25The outlet also reported that Kate began to cry during the interview as the publication

05:29shared pictures of her wiping away tears.

05:32The 25-year-old also highlighted the serious issue of addiction, which Liam had struggled

05:36with in the years before his death.

05:37I think with addiction, you know, you just, you never know when it's going to come out.

05:43It's a really serious issue that I think is like undervalued and underspoken about.

05:51Though she did not comment on what she believes happened the day the singer passed due to

05:54the ongoing investigation, Kate did share that everything appeared good between the

05:58pair.

06:00Like I said earlier, when I left Argentina, we had such a great day and he was in such

06:04a good headspace and we were in such, you know, great, you know, we just full of love

06:12and I never would have expected any of that to occur.

06:16Kate had posted on social media about the interview, sharing in part how the past few

06:19months have been heartbreaking and the weight of all of it feels unbearable.

06:23She continued saying,

06:24However, after receiving thousands of messages from Liam's fans seeking clarity during this

06:28devastating time, I wanted to share an insight into the relationship with the love of my

06:32life.

06:33This is my first ever interview while I navigate the pain of losing Liam, so please bear with

06:37me as I share my experience, which I hope will be received with compassion and understanding.

06:43Liam died on October 16th after falling from a hotel's third floor balcony in Buenos Aires,

06:48Argentina.

06:49A translated autopsy report also noted that he had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription

06:53antidepressant in his body.

06:55The One Direction star was 31.
