00:01This unusual clip from 2016 has recently resurfaced and gone viral online for its particularly

00:06odd set of circumstances. In August 2016, a man named Edward was allegedly caught trying

00:12to meet an underage person in a grocery store, but instead of running from his confronters

00:16or denying why he was there, he makes the odd choice to walk directly up to the camera

00:20and proclaim,

00:21I knew this was happening. Yeah, I know this. I know this is happening. Thank you.

00:25The video was taken by Surry Creep Catchers, a Canadian vigilante predator catching group,

00:29and posted to their Facebook and YouTube accounts in 2016. In the video, Edward goes

00:34on to continue engaging with the creep catchers, strangely complimenting them and applauding

00:38what they do, while fully admitting he was there to meet an underage individual. He also

00:42tries to warn them about the dangers of confronting predators. The video made the rounds on the

00:47internet over the years. Like, for example, in 2021, YouTuber Mike Fox made a video reacting

00:52to it.

00:52It's so nice of you to worry about the people that catch the child predators like yourself,

00:58my friend.

00:59But it reached a wider audience after being uploaded to TikTok in 2024 by the TikTok

01:04account Creep Catcher Canada, where it gained over a million likes over the course of 10

01:07months. The TikTok account I Greenscreened Things shared a green screen template of the

01:11video in March, which others started using to place Edward in different settings, like

01:15TikToker YoungboyWannabe, whose August 2024 post placed him in a school hallway setting,

01:20adding a POV caption about catching a friend walking around with a freshman.

01:23Memers also referenced the clip in other ways, like reenacting it in video games and even

01:28drawing the video's subject.
