00:06The first is the 20th National Convention of Lawyers

00:11that will strengthen the legal community's foundation.

00:21President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. arrived in Lapu-Lapu City at 9 a.m. this morning in Mactan Airbase.

00:28Undersecretary Terrence Calatrava, Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, and Philippine Air Force Officials at PNP met with him.

00:37President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. will attend four important meetings in Cebu today.

00:43The first is the Regional Development Council Meeting with officials of NEDA Region 7

00:49to discuss important projects in the region.

00:52The President also attended the 20th National Convention of Lawyers

00:55that was held at Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City

00:59where the Executive Board gave a speech

01:02in front of almost 4,000 lawyers in the government and private sectors

01:07from different parts of the province and cities in the country.

01:11The 20th National Convention of Lawyers is organized by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines

01:17that is held every two years

01:19to strengthen the legal community's foundation and to guide everyone,

01:23especially the young lawyers in their profession.

01:27Your field plays a vital role in this endeavor.

01:31Crafting and upholding stronger environmental policies that protect our shared home.

01:38Developing the concept of environmental justice.

01:43By doing so, you safeguard the rights of today

01:47and preserve the dreams and dignity of those that will follow us.

01:53President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. also attended a meeting

01:57with governors of Visayas in Cebu Provincial Capital

02:01headed by Governor Gwen Garcia of Cebu.

02:04This afternoon, the President attended the inauguration of

02:08Mactan-Cebu International Airport Alternate Runway,

02:11a project to address the increasing air traffic demand in the area

02:16and ensure the smooth operation of MCIA.
