Spanish Foreign Minister rejects Trump's plan to clean up Gaza

00:17Trump suggested to clean out the Gaza Strip and to move its inhabitants to Jordan and

00:22Egypt, which both countries strongly rejected.

00:26Certainly, Gaza belongs to the Palestinian and it's the people living in Gaza, the Palestinian

00:33living in Gaza that must remain there and we must help them to rebuild a new life.

00:40And of course, we must keep an eye on violent settlers that kill also innocent Palestinians

00:47in the West Bank.

00:50Illegal settlements is against international law.

00:52United Nations have condemned it many, many times.

00:56The Spanish Minister called to back UNRWA, the UN agency assisting Palestinians.

01:01In his view, the EU should also help with the reconstruction in Gaza and give political

01:06backing.

01:08We must help them, first with humanitarian aid in order to address their basic needs.

01:14Secondly, backing UNRWA, UNRWA is an indispensable organization of United Nations, not only for

01:20the people of Gaza but also for the Palestinians that are refugees in different parts of the

01:25region.

01:26And thirdly, we must help with reconstruction and then we must give political backing as

01:31soon as possible.

01:33A ceasefire is currently in place in Gaza after 15 months of war.

01:37According to Israel, UNRWA must end operations and leave all its premises in Jerusalem by

01:43January the 13th.
