00:34Hannah Hyatt, better known as Nurse Hannah,

00:37to her almost 500,000 followers on TikTok,

00:40is just one creator who went super viral for a controversial parenting post.

00:44Her diaper TikTok appalled many viewers,

00:47in which she casually admitted to tossing her newborn

00:49and toddler's diapers behind her couch, on her coffee table,

00:52next to her bed, and picking them all up at the end of the day.

00:55I don't want a diaper pail or a diaper genie or whatever they're called.

00:58They just kind of get thrown around my house.

00:59While some empathized with Hannah's dirty diaper disaster as a postpartum struggle,

01:04others attacked her for being an irresponsible, neglectful parent.

01:07But Nurse Hannah isn't the only popular creator to come under fire

01:10for her questionable parenting posts.

01:12KC Davis, who posts mommy content as domestic blisters on TikTok,

01:17became the target of harsh criticism for admitting

01:19that she doesn't enjoy playing with her kids.

01:21The reason I can go and read a book while they play,

01:24that they're able to play independently,

01:26is because I just said no to them

01:28every single time they asked me to play with them for years.

01:32And eventually they stopped asking.

01:34KC anticipated the mom shamers and added,

01:37I'm not saying don't spend time with your kids.

01:40I'm not saying don't be playful with your kids.

01:43I'm not saying don't connect with them.

01:45I'm saying that I established a culture in my house

01:48that adults do not play with toys.

01:50Adults do not pretend to play.

01:52And sure, some of these controversial parenting posts

01:55have people understanding both sides.

01:58But other mom shamers are taking things totally overboard.

02:04received an outpouring of harassment

02:06for introducing her toddler to African and Caribbean cuisine.

02:10In one video, where Walters prepares lamb curry for her daughter,

02:14commenters spewed racist threats

02:16about the cruelty of feeding children spices.

02:19Another mommy content creator,

02:2126-year-old single mother Alexandra Sobol,

02:23got tons of backlash for one video

02:25where she served her one-year-old

02:27a breakfast of powdered donuts and applesauce.

02:2939,000 commenters left replies like,

02:32so just sugar.

02:33Wow, what kind of breakfast is this?

02:36And this breaks my heart.

02:37While TikTok's army of self-appointed food critics

02:40slammed Alexandra's choice,

02:42other moms kindly pointed out

02:44how realistic the donut scenario actually is

02:46for busy parents with picky children.

02:48In some cases, however,

02:50the collective policing of social media accounts

02:52that center families with small children is a good thing.

02:55And even potentially life-saving,

02:56Ruby Frankie, a mommy vlogger

02:59who ran a popular YouTube channel called 8 Passengers,

03:02was exposed for heinous acts of child abuse

03:04toward her six children

03:05and is facing up to 30 years in prison.

03:08Viewers of the 8 Passengers vlog

03:10became concerned with Ruby's extreme disciplinary methods,

03:13but it was ultimately Ruby's 12-year-old son

03:16who escaped through a window and was saved by a neighbor,

03:18triggering police to uncover her abuse.

03:21Five months after her arrest,

03:22Ruby Frankie has pleaded guilty to felony child abuse.

03:27Her YouTube channel, 8 Passengers,

03:29had over 2 million subscribers

03:31showcasing Ruby's controversial parenting style.

03:34So should parenting content creators

03:36pack it up and call it quits

03:38for fear of being shamed online?

03:40The answer is probably.

03:42The term sharenting,

03:42which describes parents who overshare sensitive moments

03:45with their children,

03:46has been called a violation to kids' privacy rights.

03:49But sharenting fans say

03:50the content is meant to share the joys of parenting.

03:53No matter what these mommy vloggers say

03:55in defense of the content they create,

03:57there's only one question that really matters.
