Pakistan’s first lady: Afghanistan is its own country

Pakistan’s First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari says Afghanistan is its own country and the government should be able to make its own decisions.

00:06Because at this point it seems as if the international community doesn't or isn't able to help those women.

00:13We gave them great promise and then we abandoned them.

00:16With regards of the way the exit from Afghanistan was conducted, I think that that record speaks for itself.

00:24It's devastating to see, but we have to have faith in the Afghan government and their systems.

00:30And we have to ensure that as a country like Pakistan, who is our neighbor,

00:34we can try and encourage them to take on board our women and perhaps not go with such stern language when it comes to them.

00:42But it's also that they are their own country and we can't dictate them to tell them what they should do.
