Billy Ray Cyrus is taking the "Old Town Road" back to a studio, announcing a new album with his son -- but not the one who made an emotional plea for him to get help after his shocking inauguration performance.

00:15Talking about, of course, Billy Ray Cyrus' son, Trace,

00:18just yesterday made a very emotional and public appeal

00:23to his father, saying, you need to get help.

00:25You're not healthy.

00:28The response to that, Billy Ray hasn't said anything.

00:30Well, we should say between the lines,

00:33that Trace also said that he himself had gone

00:35through substance abuse, and that he was sober now.

00:39So it's not hard to connect the dots.

00:41He's saying that Billy Ray is off the wagon,

00:44and needs help, and evidence the inauguration night,

00:49which was a disaster for Billy Ray.

00:51So he kind of laid it out there.

00:53That's what Trace said.

00:54So Billy Ray's response to that, the only response

00:58if you can call it that, to Trace's post,

01:01was to say, guess what?

01:03I'm fine, and I'm dropping a new album.

01:05A new album with his son, Brayson.

01:08And Brayson is painting a much different picture

01:12about Billy Ray and his health.

01:14He said, I've spent the last year getting to know my dad

01:17better than I ever have.

01:19After he spent a week in the hospital in the fall,

01:21I'm grateful that my dad is happy, healthy,

01:24and ready to make this record.

01:26It's a rare opportunity to make something this special,

01:29and tell my dad's story through music.

01:31Can't wait to finally share it.

01:34So, Brayson is making it seem like

01:37there is no issue whatsoever.

01:39Now you could look at that and say,

01:40well, yeah, he wants to promote this record

01:43with his father, so of course he's gonna say that.

01:46Well, what's interesting is that there is now

01:49clearly a family war going on,

01:51because Trace responded to what Brayson said.

01:56Because a fan said, hey, look, Brayson is posting

01:59that your dad is happy and healthy,

02:01and Trace's response is,

02:03birds of a feather flock together.

02:11and yeah, this is just, it's sad either way,

02:13because either Billy Ray does not have addiction issues,

02:16and it's sad that his son thinks that and they have

02:18this battle, or he does and he has estranged his family

02:21that is not willing to kind of support him.

02:45referenced substance abuse in those divorce documents.

03:04and at least publicly, Brayson is the only one

03:07who is supporting Billy Ray.
