First look inside Edinburgh's new Blank Street coffee shop

Viral coffee shop Blank Street is set to open a new branch in Edinburgh's Victoria Street on Saturday, January 25, and we visited to get a first look inside.

00:06Victoria Street and we went along for a first look and to try out some of its most famous

00:11drinks. Blank Street's first coffee cart opened in Brooklyn, New York in August 2020 and the

00:17brand has developed a loyal following in the years since. Multiple branches have now opened

00:22in the US and UK branches have also opened in London, Manchester, Birmingham and now

00:27Edinburgh. There are also plans to open Glasgow branches later in the year.

00:33While it sells all your normal coffees like lattes, cappuccinos and flat whites,

00:37Blank Street is perhaps most famous for its range of flavoured matchas which is powdered green tea.

00:43The brand's blueberry matcha is its most famous drink not only because of the taste but also

00:48because of its stunning colours. Other flavoured drinks include a white chocolate matcha and a

00:53pistachio latte with seasonal specials brought out at certain times of the year as well.

00:59And it's not only delicious drinks on offer, there is also a wide range of freshly baked

01:03pastries, cookies and cakes which make it a perfect stop for when the hunger hits.

01:08The coffee shop itself is modern in feel and beautifully decorated with two comfortable

01:12seating areas, one which offers beautiful views of the surrounding Victoria Street

01:17and the other which is a bit more private at the back of the store.

01:20Blank Street's Victoria Street branch opens on Saturday January 25th

01:24with another branch set to open in Edinburgh's Princes Street in the coming weeks.
