David Beckham thrilled by China’s football boom

Football legend, global ambassador and style icon David Beckham told a meeting at the World Economic Forum in Davos there is a growing love of football being fostered among China’s young people. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star said he had traveled across China and seen how excited youngsters are about football, both domestically and internationally.   #wef25 #worldeconomicforum

00:00And I've seen the young children, how excited they are about football players, whether they're boys, girls,

00:06they're so excited about the game.

00:08And they're excited about not just football in China, but all over the world.

00:13So I think that there could be a big movement in continuing.

00:16I know there's a lot of people that are trying to do a lot of good things around China

00:22for young children to play the game a lot more in safe environments,

00:26in good environments with the great coaches that they have.

00:29So I've been part of that over the years.

00:32I'm a supporter of any child getting involved in the game.

00:36Whether they're good, bad, whether they love it or don't like it as much,

00:41it's a great game to be part of.
